Kohler Stages Sink and counter length question

Hi

The general wisdom here seems to be that one should have at least 36" (ideally 42") of clear counter space in the main prep area.

If one were to use the 45" Kohler Stages sink, would this recommendation still apply or can one get away with less? The reason I am asking is because these sinks are touted as prep surfaces in their own right.

On a related note, what is the minimum recommended clearance between the wall and the stages sink? Since these sinks have a 12" drainboard or ledge (not sure what it is called) can one get away with a small (say 6") clearance from the wall?

Would love to see pictures of the Stages sink in kitchens with short runs of the counter.

Thanks
