Need floor tile to match white/grey marble
Comments (8)I guess I'm kind-of a basketweave junkie now that I've seen some installed here online and at our local tile store. A previous poster just bought some beautiful white and black marble basketweave from an online dealer at an affordable price (don't remember what she said it was, though, but you could check it out). I attached the link. Also, my tile shop said that the Walker-Zanger SoHo line had everything you could ever want in black/white/marble/vintage-look. They called it "affordable," but everything is relative, I think!! Comments (3)Thank you Debrak for the pics, yes, I do like the Deloren Gray. I found a chart on the internet that compares the colors of Mapei, Laticrete and Custom Building Products, very helpful. I do realize it isn't perfect, but will help me narrow down a few colors. mydreamhome, yes, I do have to drive 60 miles to HD and Lowes, so I will be searching out a few real tile stores in the city and calling to see if they have real grout samples. Thanks for that tip. The big box stores are great for a lot of things, but some are very lacking in knowledge and service. I think it is time for professional help! Thanks This is the grout chart in case anyone else is in need. Here is a link that might be useful: Grout-Aide color comparisan chart...See MoreGrey grout with creamy-white subway tile?
Comments (10)kats737, we just got our own set of lovely old-house surprises...turns out every renovation the prior owners made was made in the shoddiest way possible. Big holes cut into major beams...An entire 3rd floor shower held up by a few unconnected pieces of plywood and a whole bunch of plaster...Kitchen floor laminate put directly on rotted floor...we've basically had to gut 3/4 of the place. It's gonna be amazing when we're done, but I'm really not loving the prior owners at the moment. Or our home inspector! Mizlizzie, your bathroom is beautiful, thanks for posting! I'm going to go ahead with my creamy tiles and stop worrying about this one....See MoreNeed help after grouting tile...Grout color covered white tile...
Comments (27)Yvette Im sorry your upset, It does look lighter in todays photos to me. You have very poor photo quality and in truth you are comparing a Showroom floor with white marble or glass contrast relfecting and a complete different lighting schematic to your tub alcove. There is some solice in lighting. This is repeated on these forums time and again. Stone itself comes in dye lots and VERIES drastically. Stone wicks moisture, from thinset substrate and grout as it cures it gets darker before it lightens. Some thinsets can take 30 days to fully cure, some portland grouts do normalize over 7-10+ days. and there is a dozen things that can go wrong with hand mixed and installed grout. I cannot see close enough the details of your install but I can tell you I have had to watch sales people at tile shops like a hawk in that they are usually not a person to take advise from. Can you be 100% certain they sold you the proper color/brand or did they sell you something similar to sell you something. ? You should have more recourse if you Payed a tile professional to source and purchase the materials themselves grout included and if you have a contract and stayed hands off. One thing homeonwers dont consider when they get involved with these things is the importance of putting all the liability in the contractors hands to afford recourse. People that do the shopping finding deals choosing materials, and then hiring labor have little to no recourse so i hope thats not you.. I suggest further patience and see how it lightens, play with lighting and start to focus on other aspects of your room.....See Moreroarah
