Gray grout color with white subway and white marble mosaic

Please help me decide on a gray color grout to use with my White subway tile tub/shower surround with 3" white carrara marble 1x2 mosaic trim inset. Also, I will be using American Olean 12" x 12" Sausalito White Ceramic Floor Tile that I want gray grout as well. I ordered Laticrete silver shadow unsanded grout for the subway tile. After seeing it mixed I don't think I will like it with the gray in the marble, and too light for the floor grout. I am 60 miles from any big box and tile stores, so I would love to find a color from Lowes or home depot that doesn't have to be ordered. Along with all of the mortar, grout, caulk etc of the same brand. Would you recommend Mapei as a good product? I did see a picture of the Mapei "Pewter" with the white floor tile that looked good. I am getting the tile from Lowes, so it would just be easier to get it all there. I am sure this is just the beginning of the tile questions, but many have already been answered by the posts on here. So glad I found this forum

Sorry to those who are tired of seeing these photos.
This grout is Polyblend Delorean Gray available at HD in stock in sanded, unsanded, and caulk. I think some other GWers have used it too.

Remember that grout is often a different color in the bucket than when it dries. So while you may not like it mixed, you may like it once it's set & dry. Do you have enough spare tile that you could do a mock up?

I don't know if Lowe's or HD have them, but our tile place had thin plastic segments of what the different grout colors would look like dry--that's how we selected ours and it was spot on. It would be worth giving them a call & asking--shoot, it may even be worth driving the 60 miles to a tile store that does have the sample segments to make sure you will like the end result.

As you see in my second picture, the marble is on top of 4x4s. I put the pencil in because I thought it needed the line to define the two materials, and it mimicked the bottom of the chair rail detailing. What I hadn't counted on was that the thickness of the marble causing layout problems like you are anticipating. So, I made the pencil just a bit raised from the 4x4, so it would transition to the depth of the marble. I laid the 4x4 as normal and the marble as normal. The pencil, I laid thick to help with the transition. Tiling is a good exercise in humbleness. Nothings perfect and my tile job reflects that. I remind myself everyday as I see my tiny imperfections and remember laying this tile or that tile. The montauk is black and I got it at Home Depot via special order at 2.99/sf. It was 12x12 and I cut it to 12x6.

As glad posted, we used gray grout, but I'm not sure what kind or what color. The tile guy just presented me with the choices and I picked one. I didn't write down what it was. I used flat white subway tiles in the upstairs bedrooms and the first tile guy I had grouted it white (after I had repeatedly told our builder I wanted gray grout). To me, it looked terrible. To me, the pattern is the point of the subway tile and if you don't use a contrasting grout the pattern is lost. Needlesstosay, the tile guy had to dig out all the white grout and start over. We had a new and much better tile guy by the time we got to the kitchen and the laundry.

I just put a bathroom floor (yeah, well, someone else did the work, I just did the pattern!) with 1" hex unglazed in white. When the guy helping me said "I can grout tomorrow" I ran to Home Depot to see what sort of gray grout I could get, and the choices were pretty limited. The recommended-by-Bill in that brand was Platinum, and it would have been a special order. I went with a slightly darker grout and it thankfully dried light. I'll snag a photo when I go up to the house later today and post it, even though it's hex and not subway, if you like. I love the way the soft gray accents the tile, and I would have assumed, prior to the Bill/Mongo/Bath and kitchen forum experience, that I should have done white.

Guest bathroom shower surround, glossy white tiles, "regular" TEC grout, 2008 I think. MB and hall bathroom tub surrounds, glossy white tiles, TEC XT grout, 2011. No issues. The XT grout doesn't require sealing, but can be, using a solvent based sealer. We have moderately hard water. We wipe down the tub surrounds with a microfiber cloth after showering (to prevent water spots on the glossy tile). I clean the bathrooms pretty much weekly. I spray the tub surrounds with 7th Generation disinfecting bathroom cleaner spray. Let sit a few minutes, and wipe dry with a microfiber cloth. Tile and grout look as they did when first installed.

Thank you Debrak for the pics, yes, I do like the Deloren Gray. I found a chart on the internet that compares the colors of Mapei, Laticrete and Custom Building Products, very helpful. I do realize it isn't perfect, but will help me narrow down a few colors.
mydreamhome, yes, I do have to drive 60 miles to HD and Lowes, so I will be searching out a few real tile stores in the city and calling to see if they have real grout samples. Thanks for that tip. The big box stores are great for a lot of things, but some are very lacking in knowledge and service. I think it is time for professional help! Thanks
