Comments (3)Thank you Debrak for the pics, yes, I do like the Deloren Gray. I found a chart on the internet that compares the colors of Mapei, Laticrete and Custom Building Products, very helpful. I do realize it isn't perfect, but will help me narrow down a few colors. mydreamhome, yes, I do have to drive 60 miles to HD and Lowes, so I will be searching out a few real tile stores in the city and calling to see if they have real grout samples. Thanks for that tip. The big box stores are great for a lot of things, but some are very lacking in knowledge and service. I think it is time for professional help! Comments (3)Hi marita.. Just wondering why you want to use gray? Does your kitchen have gray in it..like in the counter? I think it all depends on the colors you have going on in there. My tiles are a creamy variation of whites. For the grout I used the color of the darkest tile. Sorry I can't remember the name of it..maybe Antique White? Comments (14)If you have tight grout lines, you would be using unsanded grout, which looks whiter than the sanded version of the same color. We recently used TEX XT grout in Bright White--#910 in our bathrooms, and it looks very white. The large format Porcelanosa tile we used in our MB is a very white, very glossy tile, so we wanted a white grout that matched well. The XT is supposed to be more stain resistant (than other grouts?), so hopefully our white grout will be less likely to discolor (since it looks so pretty right now!). 6 years agoI have Daltile "White" subway tile with Natural Gray grout, with white hex floor tiles. You can see how the tub pops against the subway tile. I had some concern, but I like how it came out even though you can tell the tiles aren't bright white.
I used the same tile and lighter gray grout (Oyster Gray) in the kitchen, and I like that too. Maybe I'd do that in the bathroom if I had to do it over since the lighter color is a little more forgiving. There's a lot more sunlight in the kitchen than the bathroom. From my monitor, the Smoke Gray looks similar to the Oyster Gray.

6 years agoIn my basement bathroom, I have white grout and white subway tile. In our hall bath, we just put in the same subway and used grey grout. I like them both, to be honest!
