Pool build in fort worth

We are in beginning process of obtaining bids to build a pool. This is our first bid and really want to use this builder. I cannot find one bad review on this builder. Our issue is, seems pretty high and the pool might be too small. We have a 1/2 acre lot with a big backyard. Let me know your thoughts on the bid. Thanks!

After you get a few more interviews and ideas from other builders, it will give you a better feel if this design proposal fits. It's a great sign that you feel good about this builder. We actually chose our builder first because he had a great local (and online) reputation and didn't even interview anyone else. I'm sure he's more expensive too, but we wanted a quality product that worked not a cheap pool with problems. We knew the features and design we wanted and worked with the builder to come up with the final plan and costs, tweaking a few ideas that were not able to work on our lot or too costly. On a side note, he left the decking pricing out of the pool contract to be determined later - just gave us a price per sq foot idea and of course I chose a more expensive material - and it was definitely a very expensive component. So you need to budget for decking! Point is a great builder can build you anything and tweak their design and proposal. From their perspective they just don't have time to fine tune every proposal until they know you are committed to using their services. HTH

We put in a pool in Weatherford this summer and I can relate to your concerns. We used a high end pool builder because we wanted a quality product. We are very pleased with our pool builder. Yes, the price is high, but seems in line for quality build. I would say that if you think the pool is too small now, go bigger, and you will be happy. We were worried that our 28 by 39 ft. pool would be too large for our 1/2 acre yard, but it is perfect!

Just thought I would come back and update this thread! I think that I bought some of this stuff in late 2010, but I don't know definitely. I have notes from 2011. Ozark Premier plum from womack: growing great, no fruit yet. Redglobe peach from womack: growing great, fruited last year. less than a dozen peaches with good flavor. Orient pear from womack: growing great, no fruit. Eureka persimmon from womack: dead. my fault. transplanted in the heat of summer last year and it didn't make it. hadn't fruit yet. Phil's sweet pomegranate from edible landscaping: growing great. had two poms last year. very sweet, very little tartness. minimal hard seeds. Jersey knight asparagus from edible landscaping: growing great. harvested a few spears last year. already growing this year. Grapes from lowes: hit or miss on how well its doing. bought flame red, thompson red and monukka. Weeping mulberry from edible landscaping: growing. probably didn't trim properly, as its still very low. fruited last year and can already see fruit now. fruits were very edible (I was concerned that it might be more decorative). i would say sweet. Illinois everbearing mulberry: growing slowly. moved it last year, so it might be a little shocked. did get a handful of fruits last year. At my previous house, I had both navajo and arapaho blackberries in slight shade. They both grew. The navajo berries were superior in sweetness to the arapaho. I have chosen to put in some navajo at the current house.

Necia, I can bring you some sedum angelina and kamtschaticum. Not sure about the pineapple mint, will have to look. I do have a ton of the Artemesia - Oriental Limelight if you would like some. We are in South West FTW. Believe me, we went through a bunch of builders until we found the one we clicked with. Top 2 at the end of my search was Karbo Bros and Seahorse. We went with the later as he had built a couple of our friends pools and they just looked so darn nice. The build went great with no issues what so ever. I would pick them again in a heartbeat. Feel free to get a hold of me and come and see our pool. You can see some others built by them too while you are over. I haven't taken any pictures so far this year but this is from last summer right after it was finished. We went with a more modern look but my friend has the natural lagoon style if you want to see it.

poolguynj and other PB's thanks again for the quick follow ups and feedback on my questions and concerns. currently the PB still has his maintenance guy coming over daily to check the chemicals, brushing etc. and adding chemicals as needed. PB said that he would do that for about a month before turning it over completely to us for maintenance. natural one, thanks for your comments on the pool build. the PB was actually there for all of the stages and on site a quite often so we felt that he was on top of everything from beginning to end. as fari as the drains, personally it doesn't bother me and kinda like the contrast but that just me. what actually bothered me more was the color of the pool cleaner, it's white with a white hose and when i asked about it our PB said that to get the black one, it would be about 300 bucks more. uh, i decided the white one didn't look bad after all! also, we had a landscaper come out last week and give us a bid for some landscaping behind the pool. it was over 6800 for landscaping that i was not even going to be able to see since the back beam is raised.....i nearly swallowed my gum when he told us the price. so we are thinking now that we will reduce the size of the bed directly behind the pool, but add perhaps some windmill palms on each end to give it some character and instead, add some beds on each end of the pool so at least we can visually enjoy some of our expenses! the sun came out today so hopefully i can post some pictures this afternoon.
