Climbing rose in a container

I would like to establish a climbing rose near my backdoor. The area surrounding the door is stone so I need to go the container route. I have several roses in containers that I bring into my garage for the winter. (I live in zone 6). Moving a container planted climbing rose seems impractical unless you trim the canes. Should I leave the container outside and keep my fingers crossed that it survives the winter. What do most people do in my situation? Also, feel free to recommend any roses that might work for me. Thanks.
