New Build Screen Porch flooring - PT wood already on site!

Hi there,

I have a question as to the flooring of our screen porch. Our plan has a 37'x10' screen porch off the great room. Framing on the house starts today (YAY!) and apparently even the lumber for the deck got delivered and is on site.

My father in law is the GC and he just got standard pressure treated deck boards, however I was interested in composite, but he said it would be super expensive. He did say we could return them and go composite if we wanted.

I know the trex or similar product will be 3-4x as much as the PT but I wonder if I will be kicking myself down the line for not doing it. Where it is going to be covered by the roof do you think well maintained PT will be ok? Any recommendations for lower cost alternatives to PT than TREX?

Just wondering if the GW community might have some insight to PT for screen porch.

Alsot he front Farmers porch will be using the same material.

thanks in advance

-Jay
