Comments (6)Great thots you two - thanks for sharing! Tried the Euro's as you suggested Les. They don't *knife* to well -- keep popping back up -- but I'll leave them this way for awhile and see if they grow on me. I'll look further into the swing arm lamp idea. Not too sure how that blends with the British Colonial idea though understand about the crowded bedside tables. Those lamps are just temps so perhaps something with a small circumference would work? Perhaps a little taller as well? I'll move the bedside tables out a touch - lots of room to do that. No need for further WT's for privacy but thot it might give the window a more finished look. Thot also wood 2" blinds would help blend in the BC look/idea. There is a bench cushion being recovered as we speak in the cinnibar color of the bed cushion. I like the idea of adding an additional cushion or two with that! Johnatemps - what FAB finds with those pics! Prices sure aren't cheap (read shipping and duty!) but they are very nicely framed and pick up the colors + ambience I'm looking for terrifically. Thanks a whole bunch. Maybe I can get them sent to my SIL and pick them up there. "Oh Honey, we really MUST visit your sister. Really we MUST." VBG Your idea of painting one of the temp bedside lamps had occurred to me so pleased to have another concur with that idea. I only need one of them in the guest bedroom (from whence they came) so I'd be making use of what I have and with the pottery base, they'd be an easy paint. Thanks for all the great ideas & sources! Okmoreh - your room sounds neat as though it's coming together well. I'll be looking forward to pics of the finished product. :-)) MMF's I've no problem with if they are good quality. I may go that route over the armoire as I certainly couldn't grow anything tropical here plus I won't need worry about water spillage on the top of the armoire. I'd like a palm of some variety between the armoir and the chest. What would folks think about a mirror behind it?? Can anyone find me a suitable small mirror for over the lingerie chest? You seem to have so many places to buy stuff in the USofA that I've never heard of. I'm sure my SIL will understand if her garage is filled with *my stuff* for a month or two. :-)) Thanks all for sharing your thots. Any others much appreciated....See MoreNeed some help identifying some succulents!
Comments (5)Hi Shelby. They look lovely :-) I'm mostly guessing here, but I'm sure others will pipe up. The first one looks a bit like a taller version of my Gasteria 'little warty', so maybe a Gasteria? If not, maybe an Aloe? Your 2nd plant is a Crassula, not sure which one. Guess... perforata? 3rd plant an Echeveria? 4th, another Gasteria, maybe It will be interesting to see if I get any correct lol. Just practicing my identifying skills, or lack of lol. Good luck...See MoreFirst time refinishing some furniture! Think I might need some help..
Comments (35)Hi guys! Just a little update that I'm very happy about! The wood stain arrived today (the sanding paper and top coat haven't yet, but should by the end of this week). I had just about enough sanding paper to really sand one of the drawers to perfection so I did a test on it with the stain... and the colour I picked is really close to the original! It's still a tiny bit more orangey, but overall I'm super pleased. I took the pictures 20min after painting so I don't think it's completely settled yet, and it still needs that matte clear water based topcoat, so it's not the final colour/finish yet. Just very happy I haven't ruined this piece and will be able to restore it to my liking :) Sanded, new stain, original (it looks more orange on the picture.. in real life it's almost indistinguisable)...See MoreRelated Professionals
