He goes and eats the dog's food.

LOL He goes hungry and eventually eats what I give him or yes, he does eat the dog's food. :)

With four cats, they're probably more concerned that if they don't belly up to the bar quickly, they just might not get anything to eat before the rest finish up and start on theirs.

I think Calico Kitty remembers when she was a stray she eats her dry food with no complaints.

My dd has a little dog who was a stray and found running the streets. He is soooo fussy about eating and often won't eat for a day. He likes food ok (never gobbles,) at the beginning of the small bag--and she buys good-quality food--but by the halfway mark he's turning his nose up. I gave him hamburger for awhile when he was newer and he even refused that after several days. So cats aren't the only ones!

Tony the Tiger gets a small scoop if dry in the morning. Most of the time, he will take 15 seconds to eat something. For the past couple of days, he immediately tries to cover it and just walks away.

His evening meal comes from a can and that is gone within a few minutes!

I consider myself lucky that June isn't the stereo-typical "finicky" cat. She's satisfied with any dry food and just grazes all he time... no specific meal time. She gets a treat of wet/canned food maybe 3 times a week. Heaven forbid she's IN the kitchen, I have to MOVE that partial can in fridge and she SEES it! Then the yelling starts. She can be a bit picky with the wet food. Frankly, I will always be experimenting when I see any brand at a really good price. She doen't like the ones that are supposed to look like real meat chunks... guessing makes owners feel better? If I try something new, I'll buy 4 cans... if she hates one, the other 3 eventually get to the animal shelter.

We put out other food until it looks like a buffet with choices. I do have to say kitty is bag o' bones thin, so we do worry if she isn't eating. Vet recently put her on steroids to stop the throwing up and encourage eating. Not sure how long that will go on. Yes, cats are finicky eaters.

Aha! Vomit. Eat ravenously, walk three feet and it all comes back up. Been there. Seen that. We experimented with about 2 millions canned options before we got to something that will stay down. Thus, dry in the morning and small can in the late afternoon.

Jim. our cats are related. Turn nose up at canned. Cram as much dry down as will go. Drink enough for a camel. Barf. Extra points if at 3 AM and in a traffic pattern. Beg for more food, cat is starving, has not ate for 3 days (maybe 3 seconds) he forgets.

One of our cats does the same thing! At least a few mornings a week he eats quickly, drinks a ton of water, then barfs. Ugh.

Pick up the water bowl right after eating, wait 30 minutes or so and put it back.

My llittle dog is very picky. There's not a single dog treat I have bought and I have bought most of them that she will eat. My neighbors labs love me because I keep passing the treats to them. She has had a sensitive stomach since we got her. She was having reflux so bad all the time. She now takes a small part of a pepcid pill and she gets apple cider vinegar on her food all per the vet. It's helped so much. On occasion if I am bad and give her something else like a bite of pork chop she may have to get a little pepto. I cook boneless skinless chicken for her every week. Some goes in the freezer and some in a container in the fridge for the weeks food. The only bought food I have found she will eat mixed with the chicken is lovesome brand chicken stew. Her crunchies are from Sprouts and by Halo Spot's Stew for tiny breeds. She may go days with out eating crunchies, they are always available, then one day she is devouring it. She grabs a mouth full of the tiny crunchies walks away from the bowl into the traffic path, spits them out and eats them one by one then off to the bowl again. Unfortunately sometimes she tires of them before eating them all and I come along barefoot and step on one of those hard things. I think it's planned.

He must have food in bowl 24/7/365. You will not sleep if he considers it empty. It is not empty, just not as full as is acceptable. Loud yowling in all areas of house. Fill food bowl now!

We have a cat who, if he doesn't like the wet food I gave him for dinner, will go and complain to DH expecting that he will get a better choice from him.

It isn't quite dinner time yet but they didn't eat their breakfast. Don't know what's wrong with it.

Our cats eat the same kind of dry food all the time. Occasionally they get canned food as a treat. I just let them graze on the dry all day.

I'm still pretty new at this.

Mine has "another" mild ear infection. I'm still wondering if it's food related?
