We have those! I used to have a weathered wooden birdhouse tacked to the side of a tree in the front yard, and one year that kind of critter would often sit in the hole, surveying his kingdom.

My DDIL (from Indonesia) had never seen one until recently and was quite amazed by one. She asked me if I had seen one, LOL!

I don't. I never do. I think I need new glasses. At first I thought walking stick, then I see something with a different pattern in the bend of the vine..... I hope I am not telling, but it is frustrating!

It looked like some kind of mouse to me!

I had the right area, but I never did figure out what it was. Still have trouble trying to get a frog out of it.

The frog is "sitting" on the branch...his nose is pointing at 11 o'clock. His right leg is folded up under him and is right arm is curled around under his chin.

I had found bits and pieces of him but couldn't make a picture out of him. His nose is almost nuzzled into a v of the bark.

Even knowing where he is, I can't make him a frog either.

It looks like there's 2 of them in your circle one right above the other, edit never mind it's not another one. . I assumed that was the critter but had no idea what it was. I also thought perhaps that was not a twig but a walking stick bug to the right.
