New Finds Yesterday (pics)
Comments (11)Thanks! NCnana: I'm right there with you about the bugs! I'm dying to bring in a bunch of my sunflowers for this evening, but am still trying to figure out a way to de-bug them! DD suggested Windex (LOL!) OA, I bought the last they had or I'd go get some more and mail them to you. But, DH hasn't seen them yet. If they look too much like Texas or Texas Longhorn stuff (University of Oklahoma's arch rivals) to him, I may send you these. No offense meant towards any Texas people here . . . it's just a football rivelry thing (LOL!). I once won the grand prize at a big Fall art event we went to locally. It was a handcarved and painted longhorn (cattle, not team) chair, made by a well New Mexico artist, and DH wanted me to let someone else have it! The chair ran almost $800, and I like it. It looks great in our Western guest room, where DH doesn't have to look at it every day ;^D . . . men and their footballs teams! Here's the chair BTW:...See MoreMercury Glass Lovers: New Find Yesterday (Pic)
Comments (6)Lynne, thanks for the reminder to get to TJ Maxx this season. I didn't think there was one near me, then my neighbor told me about one in a nearby town. I've been wanting to go look. I also wanted to tell you that your angels are so neat too. One of those would sure look good in a tablescape too I'll bet. Luvs...See MoreAn "after" shot (kitchen window/wall update from yesterday)
Comments (39)I didn't follow your other thread and just checked this one, working my way from the bottom to the top, so I saw the no curtain version first. I thought "what a lovely room, what could she possibly need help with - it's great, as is!" Then I realized it was the after, but it's glorious with NO curtains. The window is perfectly proportioned, fitting between your art and furniture - there is no room for curtains without it looking cramped, crowded and just too much. Even sheers take away from the clean lines and crisp features. The shutters actually add the softness you need, compared to all the dark and hardness of the black. You think you can't live with it as is, but you can! Really, you can and someday you'll see it and be soooo happy you didn't let yourself put up curtains! eta: I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but try moving your chairs so they are offset 1/8 turn. So instead of sitting at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, they are at 10, 2, 5 & and 7 ish...not sure I have the new numbers right, lol, but hope you understand what I mean....See MoreNew Cambria Quartz Install Yesterday
Comments (58)I’m sorry to add onto a thread with more complaints, but we are in a horrible bind with our Cambria slab order and as a result have been displaced from our home and our entire kitchen remodel delayed over a month. We’ve had to incur all costs of housing and a rental car (we are out of town), and there is still no resolution in sight. We ordered two of the Britannica Warm slabs which were due to be installed prior to Thanksgiving. They arrived and were so far apart in color that our fabricator rejected them because they’ll both be used in our kitchen. No slabs were available so new ones had to be produced with a new arrival date of 12/11 (install 12/18)...now a full month delay and we have no sinks in our house since all countertops are being replaced so we couldn’t return home. Second set of slabs arrived and SAME problem AGAIN. fabricator returned slabs and told us that Cambria’s response was “you shouldn’t order this if you require two slabs in a kitchen.” Which our developer says is crazy because our kitchen isn’t even that big! Keep in mind we are now out thousands of dollars without any compensation. Cambria is supposedly sending some new slabs now from Minnesota...but no promises and the install date is now post Christmas (12/28). We now are potentially having to pay $700 to get plywood counters and temp sinks installed just so we can get back home and kids can be home for Christmas. But then we will have to leave AGAIN for them to do the install if and only if these next slabs work. And we can’t be in the house with the workers over multiple days because my husband is a high risk patient. And since all work has been delayed due to countertops (ie plumbing, tile backsplash, etc), we are looking at an additional time we have to find (and pay for) another home. I know these are first world problems but it’s unacceptable for Cambria to not take accountability and just say “you shouldn’t order two slabs.” Even our installers are over it and asking us to consider changing countertops away from Cambria, but we spent so much time finding what we wanted and now we've gone through so much trouble we really want the vision we had and not settle. We didn’t pay for this remodel to settle. Please help. What are our options? Our fabricator is saying Cambria is just throwing up their hands. And now 20 more days before new slabs! appreciate any thoughts on how we can truly get a resolution with the product we want as well as be fairly treated regarding the costs we have incurred. Thanks so much....See Morenicole___
