Mercury Glass Lovers: New Find Yesterday (Pic)

I found this beautiful candle holder yesterday at TJ Maxx for only $4.99. It's 6" tall and 4 1/2" across at the top. I'm planning to use it on my dining room table, with my new silver trees. Anyhoo, I thought I'd give you a heads up in case you're looking for more pieces yourselves. They had a number of nice, reasonably priced mercury glass pieces there yesterday.

Ooohh...I have been looking for some, but refuse to pay the prices! Your red votives in the back....I have the same ones, except the rounded version....so pretty all lit up. Thanks! Alex

Alex, those are rounded. Must be the angle I shot this pic at. Here's a view of them on our antique chest in the dining room. I love mine and wish I could find more.

Thanks! NCnana: I'm right there with you about the bugs! I'm dying to bring in a bunch of my sunflowers for this evening, but am still trying to figure out a way to de-bug them! DD suggested Windex (LOL!) OA, I bought the last they had or I'd go get some more and mail them to you. But, DH hasn't seen them yet. If they look too much like Texas or Texas Longhorn stuff (University of Oklahoma's arch rivals) to him, I may send you these. No offense meant towards any Texas people here . . . it's just a football rivelry thing (LOL!). I once won the grand prize at a big Fall art event we went to locally. It was a handcarved and painted longhorn (cattle, not team) chair, made by a well New Mexico artist, and DH wanted me to let someone else have it! The chair ran almost $800, and I like it. It looks great in our Western guest room, where DH doesn't have to look at it every day ;^D . . . men and their footballs teams! Here's the chair BTW:

Beautiful pictures!! Frenchdressing, your bathroom is stunning! We're using gray as the basic neutral in our new house. We chose SW Evening Shadow for the basic gray and Wall Street for the accent wall that will set off the gray stone fireplace. The charcoal wall is done, ready for the masons to start the fireplace today, and the tinted primer coat is on the rest of the walls -- it matches the Evening Shadow chip exactly, so it gives a good idea of the finished room. We went in on Saturday to look -- a cold, gray, drizzly day -- and I almost panicked. IT'S SOOOO cold and gray!! I know that when the white trim is painted, and our furniture and very bright contemporary art work is in place, there will be color and warmth, but boy, was Saturday the wrong time to look!! If anyone is looking for something a bit larger in diameter there is a small store in town that I walk to that has 2 diff. styles for about $160 each I think. I just saw them Monday. They do have the option of ordering on-line but don't have a lot listed on-line, so if anyone might be interested I could always ask them if I could take a pic of them and post them on-line w/ the store #. When I saw them Mon. that's what got me looking on-line out of curiousity. Lesmis - thanks for that link. Can't wait to look through it today. I love them too but I justy don't think that I can get away w/ mixing them w/ the rustic French country fixtures I've been stowing away!

Lynne, thanks for the reminder to get to TJ Maxx this season. I didn't think there was one near me, then my neighbor told me about one in a nearby town. I've been wanting to go look.

I also wanted to tell you that your angels are so neat too. One of those would sure look good in a tablescape too I'll bet.

Lynn, Here are mine, they are identical except for the shape. I bought mine a few years ago at Garden Ridge and use them throughout the year except at Halloween because I have some Halloween themed ones I use then.

Oh, I love your angels as well!
