All up I'd still have a bit over 500 trees, but slowly becoming less. The majority are Kensington Pride, the most popular one in Australia. There's slightly less R2E2, which is becoming a bit more popular but good quality fruit is in high demand for functions/banquets in Asia because of the size and look of the fruit. Got about 6 Nam Dok Mai, they're a cooking mango and have a low price. Also about 6 Strawberry Mango which are not a commercial one. They're probably my favourite but very closely followed by Kensington Pride. R2E2 is not bad, but it's a late one so is around when the others are finished. There's basically over supply of mangos plus I'm in a remote area and transporting them to the markets was becoming expensive (over 4,000 kms). Then in the off season they started importing them from Mexico. It took the novelty out of mangos which had previously only been available for a short time during the year. Of course there's no more Mexican mangos now, they weren't much good and people stopped buying them, even though there was no competition from the local ones that time of year. Funny that, even when the Mexican were the only ones available no one wanted them. But by then only the big operators stuck with it, big operators as in having 10's of thousands of trees. I had never wanted to get into mangos, it was only because the property I wanted had them on it. So I thought I'd give it a try. Now I know. But I don't mind, I always kept my own job, and I've got the property I wanted.

Hey Mango Perro, Thanks for Noticing. I to am a Coconut aficionado, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to be getting my hands on one, and to top it off, its a Mango.....a Mango that taste like Coconut!! Yes, I am in Santa Barbara. When are you and JF heading down to Mimosa? I also make the Fall/Winter trip for their sale. Maybe we all can make a day of it and I can meet you both down there and grab some lunch or dinner after we are finished. I am not Jeff but I will chime in. Other than Zills, I don't think anyone could give specifics on the tree from a near maturity growth standpoint. From the fruit I have had over the last 2 years, it is a mid season mango. The growth habit, from mine and what I have seen from others, is moderately vigorous. Maybe not as vigorous as the Lemon Zest but in no way a dwarf. Its parentage are purported to be Edward/Gary, so no "condo" mango there. The best I could say, which is what I am attempting, is to keep trimming to promote branching and reducing the height as to keep it as bushy as possible without sacrificing too much production. Rob

epidemiolo, Thanks for the link. You're right on with with the white fly infestation. In fact, my Sugar Apple has been badly infected with the same infestation also. Since I'm keeping my edible plants organic, I only spray with Neem oil and just hope for the best. You do have a nice collection of mangoes there. I also have a Carrie which is quite a hardy plant. I had to dig it out from the ground to make room for some garden renovation and it's in a huge pot now. The ones that are in the ground are Miracle mango, Pickering and Cogshell. The rest of them which are Nam Doc Mai, Coconut Cream and Carrie are all in the pot. I hope all your planted mangoes will do well in your planting zone. Do you have to protect them when it gets cold? So, how are you treating your mango that has Anthracnose? As to your original question on how to revive your mango, have you considered tipping it? Where I am in zone 9b, I wouldn't consider doing it now as the weather is getting colder and their growth rate has slowed down. But, if you're in a warmer planting zone, maybe it's ok to do so. I have done a lot of tipping to all my mangoes and they always send out lots of new flushes after that. Here's a picture of my Cogshell.
