where do you hang the dish towel in the spanking new kitchen?
Comments (28)For thirty years, when I had one too many wet dishtowels, I threw one over the top of the door to the hall, a veneered hollow core oak door that stands open most of the time. If anyone reading this is also a practitioner of this trick, be ready to see the veneer de-laminate right at the top middle of the door on both sides, unless you urethane the heck out of it. But it's handy!...See MoreWhere to you hang your dish towels?
Comments (42)If I were to hang my dish towel (even a clean dry one) on a lower cabinet, dishwasher, hook, etc, my dog would definitely play with it and possibly eat it. (She has opened a lower cabinet door to eat clean dish towels before.) But I personally have thought about putting a hook or towel ring or bar (like you might use in the bathroom for a hand towel) on the wall by my sink or on an upper cabinet side next to the sink. Or possibly a towel bar mounted under the cabinet close to the backsplash. I would want the towel not to be too obtrusive while hanging, but accessible. I haven't done this (since my kitchen is not remodeled), but it's an idea I'm hoping to bring to my (eventual) kitchen remodel....See MoreWet towels/cloths, where do you hang them?
Comments (13)I think the biggest issue is that it takes so long for anything wet to dry in that bathroom. It's small and in the summer it gets humid. A towel/ cloth won't be completely dry and another wet one gets hung over it. In our bath which is larger and doesn't get as much use it seems stuff drys a little faster. We do use fans in both baths and open windows as weather permits but no A/C. We also put laundry from the kitchen in that small bathroom which adds to the situation. Sounds like we are split on which drys better, hooks or bars. I was thinking of adding more hooks to the room but maybe bars like shown above would be better. Going to label the hooks and remind them to wring out wash cloths tightly before hanging....See MoreWhere do you put your dry, dirty towels before you wash them?
Comments (12)With only two of us, it takes a while to get a load of towels and washcloths together. I picked up a smallish steel white enameled hamper/wastecan that has two rounded decorative rubber bands, one at the bottom, one at the top next to the rolled steel rim. It is rather old-fashioned looking, and you would expect it to say its purpose in fancy print on it, like, "Laundry" If the washcloth is still wet, I either hang it from a towel rack until it is dry, or hang it on the side of the can....See Moreraee_gw zone 5b-6a Ohio
