Where do you dry your towels w/o towel warmer?
Comments (8)I am glad this got asked and looking forward to the answers!! Weedyacres, my guess is that the "drying" towel is hung over the towel bar spread out, while the dry towel is neatly folded in thirds lengthwise and then hung over the bar. In our new bath I am having the same frustration. I want it always to look neat. But, if you fold your wet towel up nicely, it's not going to dry, of course. The wet ones, hung on the bar, also take up like 20", so you can't hang two towels, or a towel and hand towel, on a 24" towel bar, like they're seemingly intended for. neatly folded towel on towel bar. Obviously a dry towel! Here are two neatly folded towels on a bar. When one is wet, what do you do with it? Unfolded, it takes up the whole bar, so where would the other one go??? There HAS to be an answer to this I am missing.......See MoreWhere do you hang/display your pretty kitchen towels?
Comments (18)In the past I always hung my towels on the oven or refrigerator door. In this house though, the fridge and the oven are both quite a few steps from the sink. Tired of dripping water on the floor, my husband asked me to place towels closer to the sink area. I have a corner sink with a raised triangular ledge right above it that is the perfect spot for a towel stand. Since I had already placed a decorative lamp there, I wanted a towel stand that was both attractive and shorter than the lamp. I went on amazon and found a copper finish metal fingertip towel rack that was just the right height. Also, since my decor is french country, it complemented some copper pieces that I already had. The link below is for a different sized rack, but you can get the idea... Here is a link that might be useful: copper finish fingertip towel stand...See Morewhere do you hang the dish towel in the spanking new kitchen?
Comments (28)For thirty years, when I had one too many wet dishtowels, I threw one over the top of the door to the hall, a veneered hollow core oak door that stands open most of the time. If anyone reading this is also a practitioner of this trick, be ready to see the veneer de-laminate right at the top middle of the door on both sides, unless you urethane the heck out of it. But it's handy!...See MoreWhere do you keep your dish towels?
Comments (38)We have a range with oven plus a wall oven, which I know is a luxury. The wall oven is the primary one so towels on the range oven door handle only flirt with the floor on holidays and they're too busy to be drying then! We have adopted the system my neighbor introduced me to - white terrycloth towels (buy in bulk at Costco) are hand towels. Flat-weave colored towels are for drying dishes, never hands. So the dish towels are still clean after drying the dishes because you never used them on your hands. Your system could be different, but this made sense to me. At the end of the day they all migrate to the laundry room. Life is too short for musty towels and worrying about bacteria. Dish sponges too, washer and dryer....See Moremarcolo
