Maybe you can get more suggestions if you can post a clearer drawing. The one you have is very hard to decipher and I think missing some measurements (like window sizes and the distances from walls/distance from the fireplace).

I also think you should have a prep sink on the island, and make it at least 6' long. But I wonder if the island would be too much in the way and you'll end up having traffic flow all around you while you're trying to prep a meal.

I tried the island the other way, but couldn't find a place for your desk. Also, I'm not sure if you have enough wall for the oven cab next to the 28" wall or if you'd want your fridge to be so close to the dining table.

Here's a peninsula alternative for you that can give you more storage and counter and avoid traffic passing through the working part of the kitchen (but also obstruct easy access to the DR)

Please post a floor plan, with measurements, of the entire floor this is on. Your kitchen plan's main issue is that you have a major traffic lane running through the kitchen, and your traffic lane's main issue is that it has a kitchen island smack in the middle of it. There is almost ALWAYS a good way to arrange things so traffic walks BY the kitchen rather than through it, but to properly make helpful suggestions about how to best manage the traffic patterns, we need to see the kitchen in the context of the whole floor. That's the only way to see where people will be walk from/to and all around. In other words, we need to plot the best route from California to France, but we've only got a map of Kansas.

I like sena's first plan with the island turned 90°, and the fridge subbed for the beverage center. I'd leave the sink and DW under the widow, and put the ovens near where the fridge was originally drawn, with a wider landing space, and the desk on the end. If you do a lot of baking, you might consider omitting the desk, moving the ovens toward the door, and making that counter a dedicated baking center.

Thank you sena01, Jillius and mama goose. My computer is down as we had to pack up the desk or the family room flooring so I had to take a photo on my phone of the plans I have with more dimensions. Since we are moving our kitchen to a new location, window sizes can be changed. I think a 48x36 would work above my sink window. Sadly, the window will now face the side of our house which isn't super attractive.. Just a fence and some vines. I have plans for a Prep sink on the island but I'm not sure what size I should get. I originally thought a 66" island might give me more breathing room as opposed to 72" but will that make for a functional island? A peninsula could be a possibility, but I worry that I will always be walking around it when setting the table or clearing as the new dining table/area will go to the right if the beverage bar. The family room/dining room is 28 ft long. The family room is long and narrow (11 ft wide where the fireplace is and 15 ft where the fireplace ends...where my family room will be.

Where the plans show where the steam combi oven will go, I can chance the cabinet to a 24" as opposed to the 30" shown.

I have a 36" x 60" island, and it works well--I do a lot of baking
prep on one 36" side, but I also have a long counter which runs parallel
to the long side, to stage my baking pans. If you want to seat three
people, you need a minimum of 72", or 24" per person. At counter height, you need a minimum 15" seating overhang, so if you are using standard 24" deep bases, the island countertop would need to be 41-42" deep to accommodate cabinets, seating overhang, back cover panel, and front overhang.
As for windows, even if the view is less than stellar, the light will be worth it, especially in such a long, narrow space.

I would still prefer to have all drawers rather than cabinets on the lowers.
