Raven, do you know if there's more than one? I spied one pretty soon, but then started seeing more of the same in the very near vicinity. (I think! )

Very nice picture!

minjeeah....so here's a story for you. :0) My DH got an email he'd won 1st place in a photo contest. It's the Cheyenne Mtn park open space here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We stopped by the parks Visitors Center to see the display, but they had a yoga class in the display room. So we hiked a nature trail behind the building while we waited and saw the bobcat.....

I never did find the deer in the second picture yesterday! The hunter today might be well disguised, but his rifle sure isn't! I'm so glad you are doing these, Jasdip! I really enjoyed them when someone else was doing them last fall, and missed them when she stopped. They are really fun! Frustrating sometimes, but fun. Thank you! Rusty P. S. A vole looks more like a mouse. They are a true pest of gardeners, farmers, and orchardists. In the winter, voles will chew the bark from woody trees and shrubs, causing some real damage. This guy is a little shrew, a ravenous carnivore and insectivore. As tiny as they are, shrews have a reputation for being very feisty and fearless. They have sharp teeth and their bites are mildly venomous. We don't see shrews very often, but they are very common. They live under leaf litter or in tunnels that some other animal has excavated.

I was expecting one kind of critter there, but I don't see it. But I think I see another, scary one.

It just says one of them. But my thought on these pictures taken in a natural setting you don't know what might be hidden in there the photographer was obviously seeing one thing or maybe he didn't know it was there till he looked at his own pictures. In that case I bet he was happy he made it home!

I must have found it, because I agree with all of the above.

Funny thing is that once you see it, you can't "un-see" it, and every time you look at the pic, well, there it is.
