Bonjour Sauve -- I did a quickie search just now using my high school French skills and found the variety Pulborough Scarlet listed in a French nursery. The trick is usually to search under the Latin name -- in this case, "Ribes sanguineum" -- then they will list varieties that are available. Good luck!

Thank you for featuring a PNW native! I planted one in February and am already looking for somewhere to plant another one!

Do deer eat this plant/tree? The deer have eaten just about everything we've planted here in CT over the 24 years since we built our home....even thorny stems from rose bushes.
