Lol! The kids are always leaving the back door open. I washed dishes last night and opened the door to let the steam out. I found this guy in the silverware. He's alive and back outside doing whatever toads do during daylight hours.

It's amazing (I think) that he survived! !

OMG. I think he would have cooked in mine. I can't touch the dishes when first opening the door - I've tried to unload in a hurry a few times but too hot for my hands. I'm glad OK, he certainly looks OK?

We're open door/window people too. But I haven't found any critters in my kitchen since having my combination storm/screen doors and thresholds each end of the hallway replaced. Love being bug and critter proof. My critter was a newt (lizard). He had a couple of dust bunnies stuck to him when discovered so I suspect had hidden under my stove or refrigerator ;0) He was not clean like your frog.

I have a sneaky suspicion that toad does not do what normal toads do during daylight hours. lol

DH turned the sanitize option off a while back, but it still gets pretty hot in there. I think the toad probably got in the house last night and maybe didn't find the way to the dishwasher until it cooled off. He/she appears to be alive and well.

Surely it jumped in the basket after the wash cycle, right? But, how cute is he (she?) BTW: I would have let out the biggest scream if I found a toad in the DW!!

Oh my goodness! That would have freaked me out. That was a big one!

Speaking of freaking out! I just moments ago opened my door to go outside and thank God I was praying attention because between the door and the metal screen door was a SNAKE! It was then trying to climb up the screen door. I screamed and slammed the door shut. My cleaning ladies that were right behind me screamed and we all started doing the snake dance. I got brave and opened the door and the screen door and it turned to come inside. I stomped my foot and it turned to the outside and took off. It may have gone in the garage. I was able to get a good look at it and luckily it was a garter snake. Buy we have been having so many copper heads around the neighborhood lately I was afraid that it was one of those. So we are fine, snake is fine, we just had to sit down for a few minutes lol.

@raven: Ha! Sounds like me. BTW: We had a copperhead in the backyard a few years ago. Scary stuff!!

It's a toad. I think this kind is officially known as the "Gulf Coast Toad'. It's in the silverware container. My husband removed him and I re-washed the dishes.

I thought so to be real honest. But I didn't wanna say it.!!;).

Oh my goodness I thought he was in there during the wash. lol
