side by side ranges- bad idea?
Comments (44)TO --- Ann-SoCalZ10b SunStZ22 If you read the through the thread (it is long) then you see that Issac Wong used a 60" Vent-a-Hood. "Isaac Wong 4 years ago Nope, no issues -- have used both ranges AND both ovens plus 1 warming drawer at the same time. I have a 60inch Vent-a-hood." I'm pretty certain Isaac Wong used either: 1. 60" Vent-a-Hood PRH18460SS or 2. 60" Vent-a-Hood PRH18M60SS which has less CFM than first hood Here is a great list of Vent-A-Hood 60" wide options: https://www.uakc.com/cooking/hoods/wall-mount-hoods/?resperpage=90&results=16&TYPE%5B%5D=wall-mount-hoods&Brand%5B%5D=Ventahood&CFM%5B%5D=1200+-+1300&Width%5B%5D=60&WADbSearch1=Submit...See Morescreened-in porch on side of house--look bad?
Comments (11)I love side porches! In many of the older neighborhoods with beautiful traditional homes in our area, a side porch must have been a requirement. It's unusual for them not to have one. The side porches are usually recessed a few feet from the front of the house and extend out for 15' or so. Originally the porches were screened to "catch the breeze." Now, with air conditioning, many of them are glassed in. Whether glassed or screened, the porches afford wonderful landscape views on three sides. We'll have a 10' wide screen porch on the side of our new home---just wide enough to accomodate the 5' porch swing my uncle made for me 25 years ago. If you have a screen porch, you must add a porch swing! lkplatow, I love your porch. It's a great size....See MoreFor 'the other side'.
Comments (151)"ima, Based on this statement, it seems that your H has less trust in his exGF than he did when he was still with her. It is common for exSO's to behave very differently than they did while you were together. My exH and I did not always agree, but we shared the same basic core beliefs in what we thought was important when it came to child-raising." That's obviously NOT TRUE if he cheated on you during the marriage. I would assume that your trust in him wasn't the same just before your marriage ended as it was in the beginning of your marriage. He obviously behaved differently when he was still married to you. It's not true that you and he shared the same core beliefs in child raising.... if it was a 'core' belief, then why did he abandon his children for another woman? Where are his 'core beliefs' now? He must not have believed in it enough to keep him from allowing this evil 'other woman' from tearing him away from his kids. If you want to go on believing that and if it helps you get through each day, so be it. But don't insult the intelligence of eveyone that can see what you refuse to... Oh yeah, my husband didn't trust his ex very much when they were together. That's probably why they were only together a couple of years. She lied to him about money, stole from him, cheated on him and when he wanted to end it (after the first year), she mysteriously became pregnant, even though she claimed to be on the pill. He stayed another year to try and make it work for their baby, but she was cheating on him and driving him into financial ruin. We're still paying on some of her debt and it's been 8 years. The trust was pretty much destroyed. He did however give her the benefit of the doubt that she was a good mom to her kids. He wasn't with her long enough to see that her ideas on parenting were polar opposite of his....See MoreIs this a good fix for a leak between the roof and side of a house?
Comments (43)As you said in your ORIGINAL post a flashing is missing. They never put the correct flashing in. As JDS posted above in his last picture, that is what you need for a flashing. Instead they put in that monstrosity that does not help. ALSO, there is a valley that terminates near the problem point. And the roof slopes towards the house. The entire area needs the shingles pulled and ice and water shield applied BEFORE the flashing. That ice and water shield should terminate at least a foot up the wall, then seal the top edge with the flashing tape. NOT felt paper, ice and water shield. Everything they have attempted needs to be pulled, a lot more shingles pulled at least 3 feet up the valley, ice and water shield applied to the whole area and affected wall, flashing applied and taped, then finally reshingle and siding done. If he cannot do this right he needs to hire a roofer that knows what they are doing!!!! Obviously the roof design is bad for drainage in that corner but it is manageable with the correct materials and knowledge....See MoreOntario_Canada5a_USDA4b
