Why not just use the same thing for the backsplash? It is very pretty.

What is the light like in the kitchen, and do you want to stay neutral or add some color?

Can you post a pic or two or three of the kitchen from different angles?

I think you have to be astute about the appliance color. How do the cabinets and almond appliances play off each other. do the appliances and cabinets really get close to each other in shading? a medium gray would work with counter, cabinets and appliances it seems. I don't know how you'd get a white backsplash tile to work with both cabinet color and more almond appliance scheme....unless almond is not like BISQUE, but rather closer to your cabinet shade of white.

I agree I would go with shades of gray that are in the stone and not go anywhere near the color of cabinets and appliances. That middle small tile and possibly a lighter gray that goes with it.

I have been trying to pick out gray paints these are some I liked in Sherwin Williams African Gray 9162, foggy day 6235, Rycroft pewter 2848.

I like the idea of gray for the backsplash. I'd like to get some color on the walls though. The cabinets aren't white, they're Sherwin Williams Perfect Beige. We have a really good size window in the kitchen but it faces our backyard to the west and is heavily wooded so not a ton of bright light. Right now we have SW Contented on the walls which is a grayish green but it's too close in tone to the cabinets.

I used sherwin williams krypton in my kitchen and most of the house. I love it, goes well with gray and beige. It changes color depending on the light and time of day. It has really confused my painters.

I think both the wall color and backsplash should wait until you have installed the new countertop. I know that the lighting made a huge difference when I was selecting my backsplash. I would certainly start looking now, but not lock down selections until the installation is complete.

How old are the appliances? I wouldn't plan too much around almond appliances, as they are being phased out and are limited in the models that are still available. I assume your appliances are not new, since this color is becoming harder to find. (BTW, I like almond myself) Maybe a backsplash is a light gray subway tile would be nice, that granite reads more gray than taupe on my monitor.

I have no suggestions for you but just want to say I think your granite is beautiful and I have a hard time finding granite I like.

Edgecomb Gray or Revere Pewter might look nice. I would go with a light gray subway crackle backsplash.

This is the kitchen now with just natural light. (this may look bad but it's an improvement from when we purchased it!). The almond appliances are fairly new (within last couple of years) so they won't be replaced anytime soon and I just have to work with them. The walls are SW Contented. This week I'm going to remove the apron bit above the sink and take down that shelf and move the outlet closer to the coffeemaker.

How about a marble subway tile? The one we chose is mostly white with subtle streaks of gray and brown. that will incorporate the colors you have in the kitchen without overpowering your beautiful granite.
