Having trouble finding grains
Comments (4)Sad as it sounds, the cereal was not a joke -- I was desperate to get started! Just picked up a big bag of coffee grinds from Starbucks so I will spread that as soon as possible. I was so upset that a MacDonalds and a local coffee shop refused my request for grinds --they would rather have them in a landfill. I am going to Niagara Falls this week-end so I'm hoping I'll be able to find a feed store there. Thanks for the great advice! By the way, should I dry out the coffee grinds first or is it okay to just sprinkle the moist grounds on the lawn?...See MoreWhat animal feces, animal scat, poop is this? see my photo.
Comments (10)I know this was from a long time ago.... It IS caterpillar scat that has rehydrated from the water in the bowl. cater pillars "launch" it either 4 or 40 times their body length. I can't remember which. This is thought to be done to keep predators like wasps from finding their nest and larvae. I had one bounce off my head and land on the patio table. I thought it was a squirrel pellet till I noticed the lobed, extruded look to it and searched till I found what it was. Probably will not harm the animals.... It's plant matter....See MoreUnknown Animal Feces in Garage
Comments (1)I would guess that this is a woodchuck/groundhog. I also live in Chester county, and if I leave my garage door open, the local woodchuck is curious enough to wander in and look around. This probably happened when you were not looking. You would know if an animal of that size was still in your garage, since the scat is large....See MoreDead animal smell but no animal
Comments (14)@Greatlakesmower, you are a genius! We had exactly the same problem, and it went on for years - a bad smell in a closet, that would come and go. There would be nothing for months or even a year and then, bam, dead animal smell again. I was up in the attic over the closet several times, and nothing. It happened again today and my wife thought to Google it and found your post. We realized that the smell isn't really dead animal (though it's close) - it's actually drywall patch compound that's getting heated up by the bulb! That stuff has a mild smell at room temperature, but it turns out when it gets hot, it's disgusting. We had a 100 watt incandescent bulb in the closet light fixture and swapped it out for a CFL. We're waiting for the smell to dissipate now, but we think our problem is solved, thank you!!!...See Moresusanwv
