Painting Kitchen Cabinets White
Comments (40)jellytoast-- I also painted all the oak trim and 6 panel wood doors in our house. I used Benjamin Moore Aura Chantily Lace in satin finish for the trim and Benjamin Moore Aura Black Bean Soup in satin finish for the doors. I agree that BM is shinier/glossier than other paints. If I had to do it all over again, I would do the same thing. I am glad I used the BM semi-gloss in the kitchen, because it cleans up really easy if you have spills/splatters. In the bathroom, I didn't think I needed it that glossy....and I am happy that I used satin finish. However, I agree that BM paint is glossier than most paints....so a semi-gloss in BM is probably more of a satin in other brands?? I can post some pics of my bathroom, trim & doors, ect......See MorePainting kitchen island cream for update
Comments (30)Roseabby...truly stunning. Perfection. Wow does anyone even enter or eat in that magnificent showroom kitchen:). Im so jealous as your floors are the exact floors I was going to go for with that staggered pattern. Offsets the dark cabs beautifuly. Instead I took the hardwood (same color as cabs) and ran through whole house. Shows every blessed crumb and Im a slave to keeping them clean but do get many many compliments on them. Ok, I truly am going to do something now but please dont laugh at how my island is ladies. Its literaly a cabinet size and thats all the room would allow. Love how your corbels look underneath Abbey but my granite wont allow the room to support underneath:(. So happy you took the time to post pics. For some reason its so difficult for me to figure out how to post when Ive not been on this site to do in awhile but I promise Ill take the time to do it so you fabulous and supportive decorators can give me the thumbs up or down. Ive seen the Rustoleom package for cabinet painting at Lowes and small pkg is $79.99 so wondering if I should just pick the cream and go for it or order everything ala carte etc and figure it out. sounds like many have had great results with Benjamin Moore paints. We used Sherwin Williams plastic coat paint I think its called on all our doors and white trim and its literally like a hard plastic shell with gorgeous results so may use that and just tint cream colored....See MoreHELP! Comments (47)To vintagestuff - that is a good point about the sink on the island, but... I never cook. I mean like sometimes for weeks I don't cook. So, while I recognize that concern, I am not too worried about it. There is rarely anything in my sink and I don't mind the sink being seen from the family room. to wilson853 - I am definitely looking at hoods, I think it changes the look a lot, and I like them. We are definitely considering adding the fascia and crown. I have that in my current kitchen and I love it! To chess: actually, I am not considering that beautiful range in the pictures. I am looking at a pretty cheap LG :-) I don't need expensive appliances, just decent and stylish. To BPatHome - We do not know if the post-pantry weird stuff was original, we can't find an original owner. I can't imagine why they liked that back then! It's kinda weird but... it's mine soon lol...See MoreUpdating kitchen without painting oak cabinets
Comments (1)Duplicate. Repeating the same post still without pictures isn’t how this is done. Add pictures to your first post, here. Pictures are required. https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5897514/update-my-kitchen-without-painting-oak-cabinets#n=3...See Morelizzierobin
