Jasdip, I followed your slow cooker method tonight for ribs

Yesterday I bought some baby back pork ribs that were on sale. I decided to give your method a try but used my 6 qt. Nesco rather than a slow cooker or crock pot. The Nesco has its heating elements on the sides rather than the bottom and also has some holes in the cover to allow steam and condensation to escape.

I prepped the ribs and cut the slab in half. I kept the pieces upright with rolls of foil. Initially, I set the temp for "slow cook" because I had to head out to the store. But when I returned, I turned up the heat to 300 degrees. They were done in about 3 hours.

I didn't even bother with putting them under the broiler. Just served them as is with some low sodium BBQ sauce. No sides either. It was an all meat meal. My husband was really happy, and the house stayed cool. So thanks for the idea. It's a perfect technique for me to use during these hot summer days.
