how to send pdf file(s) by email

Help. I am frozen for fear of losing the information contained in each pdf (There are 4 or 5 of them.) and/or not having the process work. (They are for a job application, and I am up against the deadline.)
Can I just attach the pdf to the text of an email, like a "regular" word document?

A file is a file is a file, email doesn't care what's attached. If you're concerned about your adroitness with Windows, first make duplicate copies in a different folder

... that I have Windows 10 and Windows Live Mail 2011.

That's what puzzles me, I don't see a pdf file listed. I've copied (see below)what I received from my contact. She says that she sends this email to about 50 addresses and I'm the only one that has a problem with it. There is no pdf icon anywhere in the email. Subject: Come 'N Take It newsletter Date: Jan 28, 2010 4:10 PM Sorry it's a little late, but here it is. The second page pertains to our upcoming anniversary dance and a list of ideas and items we will need for the decorations. Thanks y'all and Yellow Rock! Just double click on to the pdf icon and it will open. If you want to print it, just drag it on to your desktop and print from there. Please let me know if you have trouble receiving and opening the file. Thanks again! Nancy

A couple of other things have happened, too. All of a sudden I lost my sound, again, and I get a message saying "Found new Hardware" but it can't find a driver to install. Then my printer stopped printing and I get a message saying "Could not find Post Script Interpreter defined in your settings. Check your settings under Advance options.... applications." Has my computer been fried or is it something I've done and can be fixed? I did a restore system yesterday back two weeks but it's still not right. Again, thanks in advance.

Jodi..that didn't work with these files. Not sure why..but I made the picture smaller so it would fit the screen and did a Print Screen. Then opened them in my photo editing program and saved them as JPG's! Thanks

There is also a free download called CutePDF writer. Once you download/install it shows up just like a printer so you go to print your document, select this option, and it creates a PDF file and saves it to your hard drive. We use this at work and I also use it at home.

There shouldn't be a problem attaching a file to an email and sending it, unless it's an unusually large file. Even if there was a problem, the file should still be on your computer unless you intentionally deleted it. Neither the file nor the information in it should just vanish by itself. If you're really paranoid about it, make a copy of the file. Simply use FILE >>> SAVE AS and give the file a new name...example ( if the filename is BANG.pdf, save it as BANG22.pdf. ) Now, you'll have two identical files.

Thank you all so much. I knew I could count on THS people.

I followed everyone's advice, and as long as I can see the
date and time associated with the file I will be able to tell which folder/e-mail has
the latest copy.

One of the six pdf's DID come back as undeliverable, but I
re-sent it with stern thoughts about not shirking its duty again. (It was
originally sent from another account - by mistake. It was re-sent from g-mail, and it has not come back.)

It must have been above the allowable attachment size for that particular e-mail. I was using the same e-mail address, and it is not an overly large file ... my c.v. is not humongous.

Yes, I am really paranoid, azinoh.

Files get larger when attached to an e-mail due to the way they're encoded into the message.

You could zip the files, right click the file choose "send to" compressed folder.
