Cheesecake - lower oven temp? Keep in warm oven for an hour?

I'm going to try a new cheesecake recipe and in the past (using a springform pan and a water bath, same as this recipe calls for), I've used recipes that start out with an oven temp of 325 degrees or so, and then, after a specified amount of time, the oven temp is lowered to, say, 250 degrees for the remainder of the baking time. This "new" recipe just says to bake for an hour at 350 degrees.

Then, I've also had recipes that call for -- when the bake time is done-- open the oven door open for a few minutes, and then closing the oven door and propping open the door with a towel or something, for an hour (and this has resulted in *generally* NO cracking across the top of the cheesecake). This "new" recipe says to remove from the oven after an hour of baking at 350 degrees, and let it cool on a rack.

Any suggestions as to what might yield the best results--or is it totally dependent on the ingredients? The ingredients for this new recipe I want to try are cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, eggs, cornstarch (this is why it's a new recipe for me, never made one with cornstarch!) and whipping cream.

Thanks!!!!!

Smiles,

Sooz
