need some layout idea for small powder room with two doors!

Anyone got a brilliant idea (or even not so brilliant!) for the layout of this powder room? It's not impossibly small, but I've got to work with some oddities It's just 42 inches wide, with a window at the end (uncentered) that. It has a diagonal wall at the other narrow end, so one long wall is nearly 8 foot and the other is about 5.5 feet. But...it has TWO doors: the main access door and a sliding glass door that separates it from a bathing/dressing area.

Essentially, it's serving a double purpose...a powder room for guests, with access from the main living area, and the water closet attached to my private bathing/dressing area.

Just needs a toilet and small hand basin, but I'm dithering about where to put them. Thanks!

See my image below. Did you have any concerns about putting the toilet on the same wall as the pocket door? How tall is the window in this space?

Thanks Homepro1. I think what you're suggesting is what I was more or less leaning towards. The toilet in the upper left corner, facing the diagonal wall. The sink along the lower wall, closer to the door. (Standing space would be more or less the same for both facilities...just pivot!). The rather narrow boxes you've used, have me a bit confused though...so not sure if this is what you are suggesting The window is about 40 inches off the floor. No real worries about "viewers" in any case... it's not in the eyeliner of neighbors. The pocket door is,in fact,likely to to be a pocket door, but a frosted glass slider...barn door type hardware. But no worries about where it will be. If there are guests in the house, it will be closed, to keep the mess of my bathroom private!

If your quartz countertop is solid or just has flecks of sparkle, it's nice to bring some pattern in with the floor tile. You can also add some pattern to the floor with the way you lay the tile. Try to find a tile store that also sells quartz so you can coordinate the two. Be aware that you may have to add a new subfloor for the tile, which would make the tile higher than the hardwood in the hallway. This happened in our kitchen when we replaced sheet vinyl with porcelain tile. I do not like the wooden "speed bump" strip between the hardwood and tile. We would have liked to use porcelain tile in our guest bath remodel, but again, it would be higher than the adjacent carpet. We used Armstrong Alterna LVT. There aren't as many color and pattern choices as porcelain tile, but it it has a limestone composite base and is grouted just like real tile, so it's not really vinyl-y. Nice stuff, and a lot cheaper than porcelain tile.

What...my measurements are off? I believe that. :) These mockups are great! Thanks, Pevo & Geo! I've got to fiddle around with them a bit. Geokid, I was actually thinking of sticking the fridge there, hidden in plain sight, hanging over the end with something behind it (like the little wraparound cabinet that is there now). Pevo, that is not what I was thinking at all, so it's very good to see. So maybe it CAN be done! Interesting.... The kitchen location wasn't that weird when the house was built--there are about 1600 of the in this subdivision, all very similar, with kitchens in the front, including the house I just vacated (and redid the kitchen in). The living room and family room (assessor's terms) were divided by a wall where the odd peninsula is now and the "family" room probably served as a combo dining/family room. And of course there was a wall between the kitchen and living room. My last house did not have a little bumpout for the nook so I had no problem turning the whole room into kitchen (there was a dedicated dining room). I think I may have become spoiled! I've considered putting in an addition and putting the kitchen there. Once some walls are put in, the "family" room could be a combo dining/family room again and the current kitchen could get some walls back and be a...? That's the problem. I have to convince the spouse that the current kitchen space can serve as the room we were planning on putting in the addition. The kitchen would work better back there because there would be a good view of the backyard without requiring an obvious lack of walls.

In a bath this size ...and shape ....i would go with more personality and interest ...the shape and size is odd enough that it needs some things to stop the eye ...to appreciate the details ...rather than look like like a bathroom on a train...

I think i may be confused now. The wall where the window is, how long is that wall 42"? Are you in the US? In the US, the toilet needs to take up 36" of space technically. 30" is sufficient but you need to have 15" of space from the center line of the toilet. If you only have 42" on that wall, then the sink will take up the whole wall. For the vanity, I would put it closer to the door and I will make it a shallow unit so that you have enough space to walk around it.

Homepro: First, I'm not in the States, but in Spain where pretty much anything goes. Nevertheless, Im used to American standards and more or less try to stick with them. Pic below shows the layout I am imagining....wall hung, fairly narrow sink. I'm hoping to squeeze in some built-in shelves in that little triangular space, to hold a spare towel two, baskets with soaps, spare TP, etc., so no vanity.

The problem I see with this layout is that the toilet winds up being partially in front of the window and partially not, which I think will look just weird. But I don't see an alternative.

This was the layout I was proposing. Since you are in Spain, you have tons of options for wall mounted toilets. Also, you choices for small vanities are huge. You should not have clearance issues. I would put shelves on the same wall as the vanity. Something that is 6-8" deep for the toilet paper, etc.

My favorite way to store toilet paper and the plunger.
