Wall oven advice: single-double or standard?
Comments (5)We have had the GE single/double oven since early October. We find it to be a very good performer, well built, well insulated, bakes well, and we are impressed. It fit exactly in the space of our old GE 30 inch oven. The racks are ceramic coated so that during self-clean they do not discolor. The top oven is perfect for pizza, has a pizza mode, and works very well with casseroles or buns. Both ovens heat quickly, both self clean, and since it has a dark gray interior, doesn't show soil, like the old light gray GE. Bottom oven is also convection, however only two racks, and has a slow-cook feature, similar to a crock pot. As far as exposed elements go, sure do heat the oven more quickly than a hidden element. More space was gained since the controls are imbedded in the top oven glass door....a very clever use of space. We are extremely pleased....See MoreNeed help finding wooden double rod
Comments (7)Thank you desertdance. Yes, I am looking for a double wooden curtain rod for a formal dining room. Cannot find it anywhere. Just talked to Country Curtains, they only have single wooden rod. It seems to me that something like this should be in demand for window treatment option when you use a sheer on one rod and the drapery on the main rod. I am surprised I cannot find it. I hope somebody on this forum bought it before and can steer me in the right direction. Thank you...See MoreSimple Wraparound Curtain Rods
Comments (16)"Return rods" Aha! That was the trick! Thank you, Camlan.. and thank you all! What you've made me see is the importance of the size of the rod which I wasn't exactly ignoring but hadn't considered seriously enough-- for this installation, I want a rod that is sturdy enough for the 80" reach but that isnt visually imposing (which is also why I've opted to go pewter or nickel rather than black). I think the JCP rods are perfect for my other rooms and I love the price. It's a great compromise from the very inexpensive walmart rods and the very nice but more more expensive WE and PB rods. I am going to stick with the French rods for this room, Something I havent shared is that I screwed up with the hemstitch curtains. Each panel is 40" wide-- which will barely cover the window when closed. I am going to try three panels on each window set but am prepared to go with 4. This "inexpensive and easy" window treatment plan has quadrupled in cost between the cafe panels and the rods but I think it's a look I'll be happy with. I always saw patterned shades on these windows but I quickly recognized that I didnt want to lose the light. Thank you all! Comments (4)Sorry, been a few days since I've had a chance to check in. Les917, I'm trying desperately to avoid something I have to paint. I've gone down that road, and it wasn't pretty! I can find TONS of double rods in other colors, but I'm searching & searching for something that's "ready to go". $150 for just the brackets, that I have to paint myself, is a bit steep considering what it's being used for, too. Wow, I had no idea brackets could cost so much. But I will certainly peruse the site a bit more and see what else they have. Thanks for the point in that direction! monkeyjac, those are the "industrial" type metal ones I was referring to. I need a deocrative rod. I figured tons of people here might have secret curtain rod resources, but maybe this is more of a universal challenge than I expected. :) I continue the search......See Morepalimpsest
