shutters on sliding glass door
Comments (7)It's not wrong if you think it might look right. It's only wrong if you dont like it. You could make a mock up shutter(s) maybe out of some cardboard to maybe give you a visual. I've never seen them on patio doors/sliders, but sometimes creative thinking out of the box works, especially if it works for you. Later on in life if you go to sell and feel the majority wont like them, you can simply remove them. I think if it was my project, I would make them so they operate to cover the opening during storms if that's a concern in your locale....See MoreWhat style architecture is this home and help on shutter color!
Comments (15)Yes I agree with wmsimons85 your beautiful home has a French Country influence. I did a bit of research regarding this style of architecture and the traditional paint colors used. In looking at the choices I was trying to find options that I believe would work well with your stone work, shingle color, dark wood front door and cream house paint.I attached some photos to illustrate the color options. blue/gray, mint colored - similar to what you have with a bit more green and a gray/brown. However, the shutter color you have is typical French Country so that one works really well too. Look forward to seeing what you decide!...See MoreExterior colors/shutters design help
Comments (14)Denita. My phone is making them look smaller then they are. I don’t know why spatially it does that. They still might be too small, but in real life they don’t appear as small as they look online. A few months ago I posted a pic of a chandelier in our foyer. I was actually taking a pic of something else. One pro commented it was way to small. It’s actually the perfect size in real life. But in my phone it looked tiny. So I see how things look worse based on a picture. My question is more for losing the pop of color or adding a board and batten style. The board and batten would most likely be similar dimensions. We can certainly take the ones on the brick down ASAP as they are almost falling off right now. But the holes worry me....See MoreDo My Shutters Make You Shudder? What Style is My House?
Comments (5)We have a small courtyard between the house and the street. The fence and hedge provide privacy because the large living room and dining room windows look directly onto the street which is very close to the house. We got tired of waving to neighbors during dinner and dislike closed drapes....See MoreS Rodriguez
