Surgery tomorrow
Comments (27)Hi Mona. Hope you are feeling fine by the time you read this. I'll be thinking of you today and looking forward to more good news about an easy surgery. So sorry to hear about your FIL. This must be a tough time for your husband, with you out of commission, on top of his loss. I know you two are solid, though. You'll both be okay. I hope you are up (figuratively) for the service on Saturday. The only important funeral I ever skipped, due to illness, left me struggling to process my loss. Don't hurt yourself, but do remember the needs of your heart as well as your knee. It is your loss, too. Oy, what a crash course in getting-to-know-you with the son-in-law. My guess is that if your daughter loves him, you will too. It might be good to have him show up at a time when you are not being uber-hostess....could set the tone for a different kind of relationship. (That's spoken as an uber-hostess, myself, mind you!)...See MoreOne of my furry babies and surgery today for

Comments (29)Yes, I brought him home yesterday, and he's ensconced in the guest room, a.k.a. the Cat Motel. I wonder if he remembers it from the two weeks he spent there in April, following his neutering surgery. He's wearing a cone collar to prevent him from licking the paw. He's being good about it (really, he is one of the best. cats. ever.), and I take it off twice a day to make sure he gets enough to eat and drink. I'm feeding him more canned food than usual because the collar probably somewhat limits his access to water. I bring a book in and lie down with him a couple of times a day. He loves this. So do I. He's on Clavimox twice a day (antibiotic), and for the first time in quite awhile his right foot doesn't smell infected. Fingers crossed! I'll tell him he has many friends at the KT....See MoreMy daughter had knee surgery today
Comments (12)Sending a prayer that all goes well. My first knee operation was on both knees at the same time (not a smart move, as I didn't have a leg to stand on!), but I was in my early 30's, so it went well. The problem was the therapy that followed. They were too aggressive and I ended up re-tearing the meniscus in one knee. Therapy is critical, but it shouldn't be done to the point where it really hurts....See More- 10 years ago
