Hi Meadowgarden, resident busy body Sue here. I noticed you are having trouble getting the attention of koicool1. Here is a little known tidbit that I don't often share for numerous reasons...but koi has her profile set up to show email addy to MEMBERS but has not checked the box to receive email via GW. Because the box is not checked, there is no email link on his/her Mem Page. 1...Go to his/her page. 2...Click on See my Journal 3...Click on send koicool1 an email 4...You will then see the email addy, and can send an email from there, or you can click on it, and then copy the addy from there and paste it into whatever email you use. When I click on it, it takes me to Outlook Express, which I do not use, so I just copy it from the form there, and paste it into a Hotmail email. hth Sue

I've never kept one outdoors, but hearing yours are doing well, my decision to position mine on two 2' cement pedestals at the entrances of my bigger garden pathway (under 90% oak tree shade most of the day) may be a GOOD decision. Our in-ground sprinkler system doesn't hit them directly, but the down-falling spray from the nearest squirters will get a little bit of water on them every 5 days. I think they'll do well there. I'll keep an eye out and make sure they don't dry out though.

one of you says keep watering.. the other says not to ... lol ... insert finger in pot.. and find out when they need water ... do not overwater .... and presuming your pot has a drain hole.. its probably not an issue ... do let the pot dry out a bit.. before you water again ... since they dont have a great root mass ... you do need to provide enough water ... without loving them to death with too much water ... if you placed them in a baggie.. open at the top.. it might help create a zone iof higher humidity ... which might help ... i see now.. you did that.. good ... done if you can post a pic.. that might help also ... what do you mean.. yours are soft and lilty ??? there is no reason to start over.. with rooting hormones ... ken

first.. i always let a new plant acclimate to my house for at least a month.. its stressed from the move ... let it de-stress ... second ... if it grew that way ... who am i to think i need to bury the roots it put.. where it wanted it .... being new.. you might be on the verge of loving it to death .... just learn how to water it properly .. and you should have 99% success rate ... start messing with it.. you will reduce said rate ... ken ps: the odd yellow leaves.. may have been if it was grown on a bench with a hundred others.. and it was pulled out for sending to the seller ... ignore such.. unless 75 of the leaves start yellowing .... its just nbd right now ... [i like the bench idea.. because of the way it is set in the pot .... like some plant next to it was growing on it ...]
