shower curtain placement with overhead shower?
Comments (11)There is no room for glass nor do I want it in that bathroom. The entire bathroom is 2’3” wide by 7” long (as a *full* bath). It’s in the office (old “maids room” in our prewar apt) and won’t be used often for showering. So I’m not worried about constant use, I just want it to be functional when necessary as a shower, and pretty otherwise when used as a powder room. That is also why I’m not as interested in spending on custom glass panels. Furthermore it drives me nuts that there are not enough options for brass hardware for glass panels, i have ordered all the samples and none match my finish (see photo). Anyway, I digress...anyway, definitely a shower curtain for this bathroom. :)...See MoreAnyone use a regular curtain rod to hang a shower curtain?
Comments (5)Actually had two shower curtains on my alcove shower. One was a fixed shower curtain that was hung on an exterior rod from wall to wall. It had a valance and two fixed panels, one on either side. Then, I had another shower curtain. This was a plain white cloth curtain that was on the rod. It was on rings that also included a plastic curtain for water protection. So....two rods. An exterior one. That was covering my end walls/tiles. Then, a regular bath rod that held both a fabric outer curtain and a plastic one. We no longer have this system or I would post a photo. But, yes...it can be done!...See MoreGlass doors or shower curtain for step-in shower?
Comments (11)I have a wheelchair accessible shower - no lip whatsoever. I use a heavy vinyl shower curtain from Hammacher Schlemmer here. It does not billow outward whatsoever. It billows inward just a bit. I have never had any water exit the shower using either the traditional wall shower head or the rain shower in the center of the shower. My trench drain is right under where the shower curtain hangs. My curtain just hits the floor. You could do a few things if you have a lighter shower curtain liner. You can add weights to the bottom of the curtain by sewing them into a hem on a fabric curtain. These Pie Weights would work for that, if you get enough. They are 10" each, so maybe you get three and place one on each end and one in the middle. Lead fishing weights might be easiest because they have a slot in them, through which you can put thread to sew them in place. You may be able to side the shower curtain fabric into a slot, I don't know. Or you can hot glue or sew weights to the bottom of a shower curtain on the outside of the curtain. If you get pairs of magnets, you can add weight to a hem by placing magnets on either side of the fabric, with the back side of one magnet locking onto the front side of another on the other side of the fabric. Or use these steel washers on one side of the curtain and rare earth magnet on the other side. Or these sets that give you the magnet, a steel cup to hold it, and a steel washer for it to hold onto. That sounds pretty heavy. The steel cup may help keep the magnet from attaching to your wheelchair if it gets too close....See MoreWindow Curtain Rod for Shower Curtain Rod?! A big no-no? Or an aye?
Comments (1)It’s for a rental. Perhaps you are overthinking it? Generally you need to focus on tenant-proofing. Is this Airbnb or extremely upscale? Furnished?...See Moreraineycarole
