Rods come with extenders so the width won't be a big issue. Stores like JCP, Bed Bath & Beyond or even Lowe's have those. I got mine at Lowe's, the prices were really affordable and the selection had what I was looking for. Grommet shears are a pretty common staple at the stores, but if you want billowy with a little weight to them I'd go with Pottery Barn's, though pricy, their grommet shears are really pretty. I would also check Ikea, they are budget friendly and usually have something like a long shear in stock at affordable prices.

Think about hotel rooms. They so often have a room-width black-out curtain ... and behind it a thin sheer ... and usually some type of non-moveable header (either cloth or wood) ... and they pull open so nicely. While staying in a hotel a year or so ago, I decided that's exactly what I want, so I took a good look at the hardware involved. Hotels have ceiling mounted tracks. Something like this: This ceiling-mounted curtain track can be supported every 2-3 feet, eliminating any possibility of sagging rods as years go by. You can cut them to fit your dimensions, and they're even available in around-the-corner styles. The negatives, of course, are that you'll need floor-to-ceiling curtains, and you'll probably have to do some sewing adjustments to the curtains yourself. Still, I'm going to do this in my bedroom, where I expect to open/close the drapes frequently. I wouldn't do it in, say, the dining room, where I'm going to use plantation shutters and curtains that'll essentially never move.

This is maddening. Why won't Delta make a curved champagne bronze shower rod??? I ordered the Moen brushed gold shower rod and it has a warmer more brassy finish. I guess I'll have to live with it. This is the light I purchased - Orwell by Seagull lighting. It's a perfect match even though it looks a little yellow in the photo. It is gorgeous in person. I also purchased Liberty champagne bronze hardware for the vanity, also a perfect match. Going with a frameless beveled mirror because I can't take this anymore. If I could do it all over I'd just have chosen chrome.

Thinking of getting sheers for my dining room. It has a funny bump out window. Am I to mount the curtain rod to the perpendicular walls, then with a support in the middle, or will this look like a shower curtain? It seems odd to have a finial right up against a wall. If I used a french return on the other window in the room, which is normal, will that look ok? I think it would be better than one with finials and one without. Thanks!
