There is a fast growing industry in collecting and composting organic waste, especially food scrap. So bagged compost is not just going to be manure anymore, it's yard trimmings, tree limbs and food scrap. Some contamination is inevitable. Lots of the food scrap haulers use compostable can liners, but not all, so you may find bits of plastic now and then. Plastic itself is merely a nuisance in the garden, not a toxic problem. If you're concerned about what else goes in, keep bugging the producer and ask them what their inputs are.

Wow - your mirror frame is really nice! I have gone back and forth for weeks (using up all my available time, I might add) trying to figure out how to best spend my money to sell the house. I don't have enough time/money to do what I would do were I planning to stay in the house. But it won't work to just slap a coat of paint up there either. Anyway, I have decided that the best approach for me is to spend as little money as possible in the hall/kids bath and use most of the money for the master bath. So in the hall, I literally do not have the money for a new frame (because I am not handy and would end up paying someone to do it for me). I will add also, that they put the screws WAY in on the mirror - about 6" in, so it would end up being a very deep frame. As I was gazing upon the mirror this morning, it just occured to me that maybe the mirror industry had made something a little nicer since 1968. Or even a little round mirrored piece to use so it would blend better. I'll check the "little bin" section of Lowes/HD and see what I can find. Thanks, everyone! I love this website!

want to report back... it works!!! well our local ACE stores don't have CHOMP! (didn't even sound like they've heard of it) and i didn't want to order online as i wanted to finish it over the weekend. so i used the already-mixed DIF. didn't soak it in hot water (next time if i buy DIF, i'd not get the ready mix, so i can mix it in hot water... but should find out if CHOMP is sold around here...) The first time i sprayed the DIF and covered with painter plastic, waited for a couple of hours, and tried to use the sponge and scott's disposable rag to get the paper off but it didn't work well at all - i thought i cleaned it off but it was still there the next day. so i went to buy some 3M scotch brite and it worked much much much better! so thanks for the suggestion! it still takes some effort to clean it off, but at least it works... after i finish a section of the wall, i clean it with dirtex and the scott's rag because the wall was slimy with glue and DIF. i like using the scott's rag since i can just throw it away as it gets gross being all slimy. so good luck to the rest of you with the same problem! thanks again to all who helped!
