A year ago, today, GS and my wonderful cruise to Ak ended, but we still have the marvelous pictures to cherish Hope the upcoming July cruise will be just as memorable~ I hope!

Jasdip we've had a very hot summer which we are all loving. Highs of 30 in the day (not all days, but several and it's usually above 23 in the day) and very little rain. Lawns are turning brown - a downside to all the hot temps. It's unusual for us here in eastern Newfoundland to have such warm temperatures (western and central Newfoundland always have warmer summer temps than we do). I think we've only had rain 1 afternoon in the past two and a half weeks!

My Helianthus are not quite this far in their flowering, so this is from last year.

These are the 'slave huts' on Bonaire (Dutch Antilles). These are less than 20 feet from the water. Fortunately, hurricanes are rare in that part of the Caribbean, so the slaves were not in danger that way. Originally, the huts had thatch roofs, updating in recent years included a more permanent roof.
