Mare I'm not sure how many lighthouses are in Newfoundland - lots! This one is a half hour drive then a 1 hour hike to get to. From my house I can drive to 1 in 10 minutes, 2 in 20 minutes, another two in 1 hour and 4 or 5 more in 2 to 3 hours.

Annie, I haven't tried the soap thing to discourage the deer. Daughter has some hanging in her yard and says it seems to work as long as the soap in within a few feet of what she wants to protect. Liquid Fence works well for me if I am diligent about timing and consider any rain washing it off in the equation. I should hang the soap to help take up any slack. You say Ivory, I have always heard Irish Spring. Joanmn, my memories of Bison is a herd of them walking within 10 feet of the road we were riding on in N.D. Annie, I would so love to go romping in the woods like I was in my youth finding those Indian Pipes. We kids were so fascinated with them. An older boy scout told us that they would poison us if touched. We took the dare and lived to tell about it. The Great Golden Digger Wasp on the Butterfly Weed is back this year. Do you know the cultivar name? Years ago, I went through a huge daylily phase, but haven't kept up with introductions ones for quite a while now. joanmn, does that water level happen often? Wish SoCal could siphon a bit of that. A lot of pretty photos today!
