Amazon Prime Streaming Video - Anyone here use it?
Comments (15)We have Amazon prime and love it. We buy a lot of stuff from amazon, so the yearly fee is worth it just for that (free shipping on most items) There is a large selection of FREE tv and movies! Not all are free though. But the free stuff is quite a bit, so I search around and add the free ones I want to see to be watch list. Currently watching a 20 episode feature on WWII. Had started to watch Vikings Season 1 as well. Watched Airplane a few days back, lol Helps kill the time on the Elliptical machine!...See MoreHave you ever returned a item you brought at Amazon ?
Comments (23)I think the success of returns is directly linked to whether you are buying verified by Amazon products, or 3rd party sellers who also post (crap) for sale on Amazon. I've been burned twice now by 3rd party sellers. I will never again buy something on Amazon from a 3rd party seller. Amazon was only partially useful in attempting to resolve both issues. I could type the whole saga out but in the end, I bought products on Amazon no one would stand behind. One product was not as advertised (was a cheap Chinese knock-off, not the genuine thing), and the other product was advertised as having a life time warranty which the seller would not honor. Both times the 3rd party sellers were unresponsive, and actually 1 seller got weirdly upset and borderline personal with me (it was borderline creepy). All communication went through Amazon's system too, so they can follow the conversations. In the end, the defective product is still for sale through the same 3rd party seller on Amazon and still comes with a lifetime warranty no one will likely honor. I wanted to love Amazon. I used to love Amazon. But they are wrecking their good name by associating with 3rd party sellers who are shysters and so as much as it kills me, I'm no longer buying anything from them....See MoreAmazon Echo/Alexa: Do You Have One???
Comments (45)I really like listening to Pandora on my dot (I have it hooked up to my UE Boom for better sound), and my three-year-old grandson likes being able to ask Alexa to play his favorite songs. I use my dot as a timer when I do washer/dryer loads. I like getting my local weather on demand, and it's so easy to get the weather for anywhere in the country. I love that by using the any.do app I always have my shopping list on my phone. TuneIn radio is handy to get radio stations from across the country, and my local AM channels sound better on TuneIn than on my radio....See MoreDo you use fabric softener? Do you use something in place of it? DIY?
Comments (34)I've never used fabric softener or dryer sheets, and I never have static cling - even in the desert, where the humidity is generally around 10-15%. We do not use heat very much and even use A/C sometimes in January. The washer that came with the house in Cathedral City had fabric softener build-up in it, and so I cleaned that out. I do use Borax, and I think it has a nice fragrance, but I only buy scent-free detergent - both for the washing machine and the dishwasher. I also have no clothes that are polyester or nylon, and I mostly have silk and wool dry cleaned, although I have very little that is wool. I do wash some shirts that are a silk blend, however, but most of my shirts are linen or cotton or linen/cotton blend. I think the fiber content has a lot to do with static cling. BTW, do not use Borax with Oxyclean (which I sometimes use instead of Borax) as this combination will turn the water red, although it does make the clothes red....See More- 10 years ago
