Load bearing wall sanity check

I'm looking at remodeling my tiny jack and jill bathroom and closets, which involves taking some space from one of my bedrooms. I've been interviewing contractors, and I've had one tell me my plan isn't workable since it involves a load-bearing wall. My knowledge is minimal, but it doesn't seem like it's load-bearing, and other contractors haven't indicated a problem. Could you guys give me feedback on if this guy is wrong, or are the other guys wrong and he's just giving me news I don't want to hear?

The house is a 1000 sqft, one-story, 1915 bungalow. The wall runs east-west for the width of the house.

Here's the new bathroom layout. Existing walls to be removed are shaded. I highlighted the wall in question (though the shaded is the only part being removed).

Here's the view in the attic, same orientation. The knob and tube isn't active.

And here's the basement:

Thanks in advance!
