All Wet, Thanks for your response; really do appreciate it. I can definitely see their use along driveways. I have a long one that has subtle curves in it and I have seen time and time again where friends, Fed-Ex, UPS, et al, have had a tough time backing up ... many times going over the edges onto the lawn areas ... not bad, but I cringe as I think about the sprinklers. To be fair to my builder, he did ask us "Are you sure you want a driveway with subtle curves?". Well, my wife and I too like the look, but I now know what the builder was probably thinking. LOL! Surprising though, none of those sprinklers got mashed. Just lucky I guess! I haven't been able to find anything at our local big box stores, meaning HD and/or Lowes. I called a few local plumbing/piping supply places, i.e., Apex (now owned by HD), but that turned out to be a "no-go" as well. LOL! While I described the item in reasonable detail (so I think), none of them carried them ... now I can "talk the talk" ... "concrete donuts" so I can be more specific in my searches and/or discussions with folks on the phone. Again, thanks so very much. bbbbosox

In-ground boxes were used; however, they were overgrown with grass. We finally managed to locate all 7 zone valves and the master valve. It only took about 10 hours, but we found them all, and cleaned them out. That was 80% of the time spent on this project. Lesson learned...keep those valve cover areas weedeated out every week!! The root cause appears to be sand from our well. We get this really fine sand from the Paluxy Sands in our well water. We had severe sand issues for a while after first digging the well, and apparently it was enough to cause problems in the irrigation system 3 years later! The sand got into the diaphragms in the valves and blocked the little pin holes that allow the valves to close. That, combined with lowering the water pressure slightly, would not allow the valves to close. Thus, multiple stations would be running at the same time. Everything is working better than before now, thank goodness! Could be. Remove the head and turn on that zone -- see if you have good flow at the head in question. Also look for broken/leaking fittings on the pipe, or even the pipe itself. Any wet areas creep up? I had a smiliar incident... ended up being some gravel in the line at the head

Here is my thought on it...It is very warm and yes very dry, and things are moving out of dormancy rather quickly. But I think that if you throw a bunch of water on it all now you will really spur the growth process along and that is fine if the weather remains as it is. I don't, however, think that this will be the case and a return to normal could possibly damage all that new growth. I myself am hoping for rain and cooler temps to ease things in, but I have watered spring bulbs as they are supposed to be awake now and some pansies that have returned as they can weather the storm as well.
