5lb STPP arrived today
Comments (58)@sshrivastava, There's a good reason STPP gets out oily stains. The breaking properties in Complex Phosphates actually surround grease & oil... lifting it out like a magnet and suspending it in solution with the water. When P&G introduced Dawn, in the early 70's. It's main ingredient was Phosphates. While.. I never myself, used the original product. I do know, from research that it was extremely effective, and very popular with housewives. It's my understanding... that before, mainstream dish soaps... a lot of dishes we're being washed in "all purpose" or laundry detergents. And it worked... they we're loaded with Phosphate, and cleaned dishes well. But... they we're extremely harsh on hands. Suddenly.. there was a new product on the market... that cleaned well, and didn't contain so many harsh alkis. (Try putting in your hands in a dissolved solution of Sodium Carbonate. It'll leave your hands extremely burned, and irradiated. Try that with STPP... and your hands will feel wonderful)...See MoreHey MamaP
Comments (8)Funny if they did change the scent as its been the same scent for many many years. Only the pink one smelled different with a very light floral scent. And I remember you said something about it comming in buckets in the summer??? I haven't seen it in buckets in 10 years...was that you over on AW that showed the bucket? I'm surprised it didn't generate more interest there's a ton of guys over there that like the sears detergent. Thats actually why I bought it again after so many years. Those guys over there are picky about detergent and most of them wouldn't use something that's not good. Jody...take a heavy soiled load..add 1sears scoop of stpp and two scoops of the sears detergent. ..and watch the magic. Or 1 scoop stpp and 1 scoop sears detergent and a small dose of liquid detergent (not Tide or Persil). If your not getting the best results with the sears detergent just tweek it..use 1scoop sears and a bit of whatever other detergent and stpp..it will work great. This way it cuts your detergent costs down since sears is so cheap....See MoreMamaP's FL questions, comments ect...
Comments (162)There's nothing wrong with the machine or this brand. ALL these machines have hidden functions programmed into the software that is activated sometimes by a certain sequence of buttons. These finds are not documented anywhere and most times the manufacturer don't even know they exist. Many times the same control unit is used across several models with different features implemented in different ways for different models. It's about cost, and rather than engineering and manufacturing 5 different control units for 5 different models, one core unit is developed and features are implemended via software, or different logic lines on the LED control panel. A series of specs is developed and bid out for manufacture and design. Whirlpool does not produce their own in house electronics....See MoreAdding fabric softener WITH detergent!
Comments (28)Jody, there's a softening of some sort, think its maybe a clay compound in the powders with FS, I notice a very slight difference using them without LFS, slightly more smooth fabrics. But I think as Dadoes says its more of a scent thing. I do like the powders with FS on jeans, as it seems to give them a more finished feel where LFS IMO is terriable on jeans, makes them too floppy lol...See Moremamapinky0
