Help! Yellow leaf on Sanseveria with new growth. Overwatering?

Hi everyone!

I noticed this morning one leaf on my sanseveria is yellowing! Help!

I have had her for about 2 years now. She has been doing wonderfully with 1/2 cup of water every week. Finally this spring she produced some new growth (on the right side). I have increased the water to 3/4 cup - 1 cup to encourage the growth. Was that a mistake?

The only one that seems to be affected is the older leaf.

I have also been giving her plant food here and there (twice a month) while I see growth. I have been doing the same to all my plants and other sanseverias - they are doing well and also growing.

I have not watered her in about 9 days - should I hold off on watering and just allow her completely dry? The yellowing leaf feels just slighty moist - the dirt is pretty dryish 2 inches deep.

Are you not supposed to give plants a little more water when they're growing?

I appreciate the help!

Cristina
