What is your favorite Turquoise paint for furniture? No teal, pls
Comments (5)I love this shade of turquoise. I've used it but I had it made by SW. It's called Aqua Chiffon by Olympic paints. It leans blue but it's turquoise. Here is a link that might be useful: aqua chiffon...See MoreBenjamin Moore favorite blue paint colors
Comments (3)I just went through a blue bathroom painting. It was horrendous getting the shade of blue right. What I thought looked good on the card, looked like a pastel baby boys room. Several times! I was going for a cooler, muted, spa blue, but keep ending up with the wrong thing. Too dark, too light, too aqua, too gray, too blue. I have no natural light in that bathroom so it affected the choice a lot. Does your laundry room have natural light? I have almond tub, toilet, sink so I didn't want too light or it wouldn't contrast well, but not too dark either to not be a cave. Lady Finger is dark enough too, that you will probably want something dark enough for good contrast. I ended up with Wedgewood Gray, which doesn't look gray in the least. I have Lady Finger in another room and I just put my large sample board of Wedgewood Gray next to Lady Finger and it looks fine. The first blue I thought I would love was Santorini Blue. Turned out to be too baby-blue-boys-room when up. Nantucket Fog was very similar. Solitude (Affinity) was gorgeous but potentially too dark for my space. Ditto Nimbus Gray (not really gray). Buxton Blue was interesting for a hint of aqua. Nice but I was afraid too dark for me. Yarmouth Blue similar but lighter, I was afraid too light. Too many choices! Good luck!...See MoreBM Wedgewood Gray paint samples?
Comments (4)Thanks for the pictures Georgiagal. I have actually seen your post before and it's one of the reasons I liked Wedgewood. Does it look aqua to you? Another person here mentioned using it in her daughter's bedroom as nice aqua color, which might be too green for me. Denali, I'll have to check out the SW samples. I knew they did the paints in their own colors, but I didn't know they could color match in the sample size. I didn't want to use My Perfect Color because I was afraid their sample might not actually be the same as the original BM (I've had trouble color matching before where the paint was subtly off but you couldn't tell until it was on the wall). But I could try the SW sample and just use SW paint if I liked the color. Thanks for the info....See MoreWhat's your favorite soft blue gray?
Comments (19)Quiet Moments is way too toothpaste minty fresh for me. I've used those same words to describe the light blue-greens I sampled in my bathroom. Colgate colors! They look nice in those white coastal baths but they are very minty otherwise. I also found that some of the paints with silver in the name have a slight lavender undertone, which you can see when you add accessories in a blue without undertones. I think it may be safer to start with a paint that looks like a true gray, where the undertones aren't obvious when comparing paint chips at the store. The undertones that you can't see on the chip will appear when it's on the wall....See MoreMizLizzie
