Target has jars on sale!
Comments (12)Our local Wally World leaves their canning section out all year round so they never really put anything on sale to get rid of it. It's kind of disheveled in the fall and winter, but replenished and straightened out in the spring. Grocery stores have started leaving theirs out all year as well, no sales. ACE, same, no special sales. Tractor Supply has the best deals around here this year for the close of the season. Last year, Lowe's had a pallet rack and sold a bunch of stuff really cheap at the end of the season. I guess they realize they got bit and didn't have a Ball display this year. Shame. I was looking forward to it... :-(...See MoreDems Target Private Retirement Accounts
Comments (27)>>b-4 our new marxist regime takes over.Ummmmm. Last I checked it was the BUSH administration putting the government in the business of bank ownership? And it's the BUSH administration and the rest of the Republocrats handing over OUR tax $$$ to a bunch of their cronies like GM and Citibank whose firms are going to go bankrupt because of their poor foresight and inability to meet market demands while paying their CEO's billions? And lets see, it's the BUSH administration took a budget surplus in 2000 and turned it into a record-breaking deficit, while creating the biggest government and government debt in history, including an entire new cabinet-level beaurocracy (Dept of "Homeland Security") to suck billions of dollars towards creating an atmosphere of fear? Are you safer now than you were in 2000? Think again. And the NEXT guys are the "marxists" and crooks who will create big government and mishandle our tax dollars? What planet are you on? I'm just glad BUSHCO didn't get their hands on privatizing my Social Security. At least the money I'm losing in my 403b isn't my social security for the future, just my own damn money. Perhap I'll have something to live on in my old age, thanks to FDR. I hope that Obama can provide us with the "Next Deal" to get us out of the Great Depression II that Bush has pushed us into. World War I was just known as the "Great War" until World War II came along. Now we'll have the "Depression I" and the "Depression II" to tell our grandkids about....See MoreTarget - False advertising?
Comments (20)Well of course it was NOT false advertising. While I'll agree it'd be nice if they put the S&H price range right next to it, do you consider it "false advertising" when they don't include the sales tax? What about when you go to a restaurant, isn't it false advertising to not include beverage, dessert, tax and tip? Oops, don't forget it's false advertising to not include parking if you go someplace where they charge and what if there's a valet? I always laugh when people buy at auctions and the pay a "buyers fee", go to ebay and don't consider the shipping. "Buy it now" for $1 and pay $25 S&H! They should also include the cost of a cab, bus fare, your car, gas, insurance, etc, in their pricing in the stores too, at that rate. Oops, that car you bought didn't include license and insurance? False advertising? Then there's the people who think nothing of paying $40 or $50 for walking into a Scam's Club or Crustco. People need to learn to pay attention and learn that there are associated costs in buying things....See MoreDealing with designer + draftperson + errors
Comments (19)The building department requirements are what I would expect so the drafter appears to not only be unfamiliar with these requirements but also did not read the list of requirements available from the town. The missing structural info is odd from a structural engineer but it would not be the drafter's fault. When a bedroom is added smoke and CO detector plans are normally required to be submitted so they can be reviewed by the fire service rather than being reviewedd on site. I don't understand the trail of responsibility or the involvement of the designer or architect but I would have been surprised if a drafter had submitted a better set of documents for a permit without some help. I would have asked the builder or the architect to oversee or at least review the documents before they were submitted. The cost issue gets hung up in what the contract specifically said about time and professional supervision and the person's professed professional experience and capacity. I don't blame you for hoping for better professional service but I'm not sure you should have expected it. On the bright side, many building plan reviewers would have returned the submission after several weeks without providing such complete revision instructions and that may have saved you weeks. Also, using a drafter instead of an architect or professional designer probably saved you many times more than what you could have saved working on the project so things may yet work out....See Morerococogurl
