We built in a fireplace and grill area. this was taken before the cedar pergola was stained. It was recently stained a second time and should be good for a few years. We are getting ready to put a wet look on the patio pavers.

beagles - I rememeber your porch. :) I had the same cushion on the lounger that we sold. Gave that away to the buyer. He got 2 for one.

My of my...you sure have a lot of potted plants to water.

Mine was still in the deep freeze the last time we had a porch party, but it is up and running now. It is full of every kitschy thing imaginable, including the sign that says, "Teach a man to fish and a liar is born" and "Sailing spoken here." So many family mementos of our boats and times at the little lakes and big Lake. Needs to be de-cluttered but I still love it. And yes, those are original Betoia chairs from the MCM era that I inherited from my aunt. The upholstery has gone by the wayside though, we just use cushions. Love them!

DH and I spent a couple of days at an inn with a perfectly delightful enclosed porch. I told DH we need to finish off our porch in the same way...and then he can open the Early Bird Inn BnB (even I got tired of all these BnBs with b'fast at 9...DH's would serve at 5:45 sharp).

Gosh, Nhb22, I lingered over your "before" picture before I realized it was the "before picture! Both before and after are lovely! All these spaces are so inviting.

ETA, Bpathome, my family would love to stay at the Early Bird Inn... could you serve my DH and me at 5:45 and our kids at noon? That would be perfect. (And that's the reason why we no longer stay at hotels but at airbnb type rentals because no one is on the same clock around here!)

Oh my! Your porch is inviting and the view is beautiful! I'm going to take pictures of ours, we just bought our house a little over a week ago so it's a little messy. There are a bunch of weed that we need to pull out once we are done unpacking.

Here's ours. I envy the views and fireplaces that some of you have. I wish the porch was bigger but it's our favorite room regardless. The patio was just redone this spring.

All such beautiful, inviting porches! I love porch photos so much that every year I buy a Porch calendar with many gorgeous pics to enjoy all year long. I have a back and front porch, although out here we call them portals.

Guess what? Last night I found the "porch" link that I had been looking for. I had responded to it before leaving on vacation and then put it in my Favorites to come back to when we returned. And so many of you have already posted over there. I remember seeing many from years past. Such a dummy...I am so sorry I started a new thread.

Waaaaah, I don't have a porch, but sure enjoyed looking at those of you who are so lucky to have such wonderful outdoor spaces! And your views are spectacular to boot!! You are lucky ducks. ;)

These porches are so beautiful. But how do you keep them so nice and clean? It seems like I get mine cleaned off and two or so hours later copious amounts of something else appears. The wind just seems to bring every leaf, bit of dog fur, bird feathers, nesting material, dead flowers (which seem to attract spiders) and dust my direction. If I were to screen the porch that would reduce it to just the dust-I hope. Do you (or your maid) sweep and mop these areas every day?

I'm pretty sure I win the Smallest Porch Award! This is an older pic -- we now have a round coffee table, and new pillows. You can find me out here binge-watching Six Feet Under on my iPad, with headphones so the neighbors won't think they're overhearing MY dyfunctional family.
