Sorry, Joe, if you are referring to you being a longhorn. I'm sure you have the respect deserving of any proud t.u. fan, but I've seen countless bad fans that show lack of decent upbringing. Also, being in the military I figure you to be an Aggie. TAMU has turned out more generals than any other school in this nation. The last game I attended at Kyle Field when we were playing t.u., many of the t.u. fans didn't even take their hats off for the National Anthem or the Pledge Of Allegiance, which makes my blood boil. At every game, there is a fly over by military pilots and they are introduced at halftime. The longhorn fans didn't even applaud for them...kind of ironic since the military men and women are the ones fighting for the right for them to act that way. I guess I just don't understand 'Austin' thinking...I guess that's why they have bumpers stickers that read, "Keep Austin Weird." Don't get me started. "TT" logo on my outhouse...how fitting. Kt

Cooper Bailey are those New Dawn roses? My absolute favorite rose. I want to show my porch but I don't know how to post pictures here. But if anyone is interested they can go to home galleries. Then click on Halloween Hauntings and you will see my porch with the muns and scarecrow and pumpkins. My house was built in 1895 and is a Victorian Cottage and the picture was taken in the autumm. I am going to learn how to post pictures I need a little help from a friend or something. Sorry... Oh I am changing my porch furniture to antique wicker. Folks, thanks so much. We already have multiple outdoor porches on other sides of the house, where the views are. Facing the front one only sees the street and other houses in the distance. The rear has a sweet view, so there are multiple patios, etc. on rear and side. Further, as much as a screen porch would be nice we're too far along now...would need an approved City plan change, hoa change, etc. But good ideas! I like the "mixed w/slatted wood" stairs picture...maybe we could do something along those lines. Virgil's really got it with the shape of the stairs; we could potentially color the concrete slightly (they have more integrated coloring agents now that don't change color as much)...ligher version of stucco siding color shown above.

wondering if someone WANTED a crafstman style and did the brick work, and never added the roofline? It looks like an overhaul if you want to continue the porch style to include the pillars. It would also require removing the portico overhang that already exists. How much of an investment are you thinking??? If it were mine, and I was replacing shingles, soon, I would replace the roof with a taller pitch. at that time, I'd add the required porch roof to accomodate the existing pillars and create a so called craftsman style. Is it worth the effort and expense??? Is the brickwork stable enough to re use? Something to think about. with all that said, I'd remove the Bricks and build a nice composite deck, create a cute cottage look. You asked.
