Comments (3)Don't forget the coupon is also good for garden supplies. I used it on a trowel that feels invincible (which is a good thing around me.. the one who breaks tools all the time). Add a carpenter pencil and get it for 61-cents! The nice thing about Craftsman is that if a took breaks, just bring it in Sears and they will replace it! I also bought a bow saw for $1.99 after coupon. It will be a couple years before I have something to cut though. I intend to cut aggressively as my tiny back yard just barely accommodated these 2 apple, cherry and Japanese maple trees. A pair of pruning shears may be a better option, but can't complain about the price of the saw....See MoreTool for cutting pottery, glass, etc
Comments (2)For cutting pottery and stoneware (not glass, tho'), I think a Dremel with a cut-off wheel will do the job- but it's going to be hard to made a neat cut and might take more than one wheel (don't use those paper thin wheels that come with most Dremel kits). And, yeah, it's gonna be a dusty job. I've bought after-market mandrels that fit Dremels that take a large diameter cut-off wheel (2" dia., 1/4" center hole)- the type that might be used in an air-powered die grinder but it beats the hell out of the tool. I thought the first mandrel I bought WAS a Dremel but I note that they don't sell one that size anymore- perhaps because the tool couldn't handle it. Buy a flea market cheap-o knock-off, use-once-and-throw-it-away if that's the case....See MoreBuying used power tools off Ebay
Comments (16)Last year, I had success purchasing a 1/2" corded Milwaukee drill off "the Bay" - I asked several questions and would recommend that anyone else do likewise. I've even asked sellers if they would guarantee to take the item back from me, if I felt it was misrepresented. However, there's no guarantee that you still wouldn't get burned and E-Bay's complaint department isn't known for aggressively resolving issues. That said, I still think you'd be safer to go with one of the recognized, remanufactured shops, like CPO Bosch. Even some of the places like Home Depot or Lowe's will occasionally have "used once" items for sale, at substantially reduced prices....See Morejemdandy
