My first year rose garden
Comments (11)Vaporvac - thank you! I am in Pittsburgh. Yeah I thought I would sink these puppies in the ground, water, and voila! But no! Quickly had to learn about BS, JB, keeping dear away etc. Whew! I just hope they all make it to next year and come back stronger. When they bloom it's all worth it! It is nice to have a place to talk roses. I send my husband pics when they bloom, and he likes them, but yanno if I refer to my wedgewood rose, he's like huh? So not really the same haha....See Moreraspberry cream twirl... does anyone have pics to share
Comments (26)Band size, like a starter plant-not huge but all the ones I've received from her have roots filling the band pot and I usually throw them into a one gallon for a month or two then pot up from there. Last year, I got Colette, White Eden, and Fourth of July. Colette started blooming right away. I know I got some others from her as well the year prior, just cant think of them right now lol. I'm definitely going to get some more from her this year. I noticed she has Bliss, if anyone wants that as an own root band. The shipping usually starts in March or so but you can pick a ship date based on your climate. She was responsive to email, the one time I inquired about shipping. Regans had bare root RCT not sure if they are sold out or not yet....See MoreRaspberry Cream Twirl for Dianela
Comments (28)@Glimmer of Hope This rose looks delicious!... it is so uniquely colored and almost like something out of a fairy tale. Would you mind sharing a picture of where you have or planted??? I would love to see the entire plant and get a sense the overall look of it in the landscape....See MoreRaspberry Cream Twirl
Comments (29)Carla -- I think I have your same trellis in my veggie garden! Found mine at Costco. I have RCT in a partly shaded area, with the idea it will climb my arbor that frames the path along the side of my house to the backyard. But it's been very slow starting (1 gallon from Heirloom) -- but The Impressionist was planted about same time, also 1 gallon from Heirloom, and it has taken off this spring, so I'm hopeful that RCT will come along. If not, I may have to move it somewhere else. Not sure if it needs more sun, or it's just slow starting on its own roots. I also got peach leaf curl on my nectaplum (despite having sprayed with copper in Dec/Jan), and am getting some black spots. It is still very moist here, and drippy marine layer in morning. But RCT is looking good! @Sheryl May 8a - any updated photos on your slope? It was looking pretty amazing!...See MoreAshley (Idaho zone 5b)
