Comments (8)In addition to the commnets by the previous posters, I want facts in an e-article. Vague, wordy, this-or-that, outdated, and out of touch is the best way I can describe illa maden's unopinionated opinions. 1) Not any more it isn't. 2) Seal with what? Describe proper care? 3)Texture? Tactile or visual? Does a certain color indicate a certain geological makeup of the stone that makes it more or less durable than another color? Why honed versus polished? Pluses or minuses? 4)What mishap? A chip? A crack? a stain? And how is it repaired? DIY friendly? Pro? Expensive??? 5) Will it? You made statements without telling me anything! Ah, the beauty of the internet. Where anyone can be an e-star with their very own e-zine. Do you even know where you live? Guam? Bermuda? Next door to the other wonderkind of e-zine spammolicious fame, "LA writer"? e-critically yours, e-Mongo...See MoreBathroom Storage; what do you have, how do you use it
Comments (11)I think organization is at least as important as sheer storage space. Spread all your bathroom junk out on the floor or bed and pretend you're at a garage sale and that you have to 'buy' anything you want to keep (and not at a too-good-to-pass-ip price). If you don't care enough about it to buy it back now, then throw it away! TOSS those 10-year old lotions and potions! Failed make-up experiments? Throw 'em away! Perfumes and after shaves that aren't your style? Toss 'em! Curlers, straighteners and personal appliances that are no longer being used -- Goodwill 'em. The sheer volume of 'bathroom garbage' may dismay you; but you may also be pleasantly surprised by the 'good stuff' you rediscover simply by tossing the carp. Then sort and group the rest into baskets and bins that are just large enough for what's in them. Storage containers that can be stacked to fully utilize the vertical space will make the most of shelves, and see-through containers and big labels are wonderful! Then put the seldom-used stuff on the hard-to-reach shelves and the used-everyday stuff in the easiest-to-access areas. How much storage space do I have? One small medicine cabinet and an 18" wide by full-height closet. Between those two spaces, I have everything I use plus soap, shampoo, toothcare and deoderant for the entire family....See MoreIf You Have a Black Vanity -- How Did You Decorate Your Bathroom?
Comments (9)The ballard shower curtain you describe would be gorgeous-- and elegant but so tailored and cold next to what you've described in your other rooms. I don't think the styles need to match necessarily but it sounds like a completely different personality to me-- as does the toile (though it would be lovely too). You've done some interesting and unexpected things in your other rooms-- it just seems natural that you'd do the same in the bathroom. I love black and light green together--if it were my bathroom, I'd use a leaf print to make a beautiful little oasis. You could go wild and tropical for one look.. or more subdued for a more serene environment. I tend towards the serene-- so I'd go for something like the PB overlapping leaves shower curtain with interesting artwork. But that's MY taste haha.. what "feels" right to YOU? It may be too "earthy" for your tastes but I have handcrafted tiles in my small half bath with a raised frog and turtle. But you could go so many directions with leaves-- black and white photographs like citymom did.. some kind of funky tribal or island decor. Whatever tickles your fancy. Here is a link that might be useful: one option for leafy green shower curtain...See MoreHow often do you replace your bathroom rug?
Comments (4)I use rag rugs I bought from Amish. The ones I use in the bathroom are made from fleece and sweatshirt material so it's super soft. Ive had it a couple of years, and it looks like new....See MoreNothing Left to Say
