Those look like some kind of hibiscus seedlings, or maybe potato plants? Did you bury any kitchen scraps in there? Why not put on in a pot and let it get larger so we could tell you more?

Hmmm...definitely didn't put any scraps like Potato...I do however have a variegated Hibiscus and now that you mention Hibiscus could this be seedlings from my Pagoda plant? The leaves are very similar and resemble it...

But I literally have about 20+ of these popping up in my mulch area...I probably will have to pull them out so I don't have it end up with all these plants,lol...

Variegated Hibiscus...it has a lot more green now that it doesn't get as much sun as it did in the winter...

I have them popping up all over for the first time in my back yard this year and have no plants like it anywhere.

I am just pulling them hoping they do not get unmanageable.

It is weird how they just started showing up this year...the only other thing I can think of is I put bags of Red Mulch from Lowe's...I wonder if there were some seeds that were in the bag? It might be a coincidence but it started showing up a several weeks after I used the mulch...

Oh yes, pagoda plant, definitely. Those can come up yards away from the plant.

Wow, had no idea they spread that much! Thanks DG...I have since dug up the plant and put it in a large pot a few weeks ago. It was blocking my sprinkler head and killing the grass in front of it. I thought I killed it :o(...the plant went in shock and all the leaves drooped. I removed all the leaves and hoped for the best...within 2 weeks new growths came up from all the areas I removed the leaves from...here it is today. I knew digging it up after Its been in the ground for 2 1/2 years was not a good idea since I really thought it wasn't going to make it anyways...
