Basement Bathroom/Laundry Room Combo Advice Needed, please
Comments (8)Okay, so thoughts: Is door placement set? I'd put the toilet near the door, with sink next to it. I'd put the shower in a back corner If this is a basement, I'd put a drain in the floor of the room (and maybe leave it concrete floors so I could potentially hose the whole thing down?) Laundry in a back corner (other corner) Hanging things between laundry and shower storage/hooks/etc along other wall sink near door. I think I went around the room. If you have the option to put the door in the center of the room instead of the end of a wall, that might be best. But, you can play with that a little....See MoreExterior Cosmetic Advice/Lake Home
Comments (14)I think the advice to live with it before doing anything is generally a good idea. That said if it is something I find I can't stand the look of that opinion rarely changes for me and would be a reason for me to remove it. I find it an eyesore and no matter the function I couldn't handle seeing that thing every day I came home and I'm generally a function over form when making choices in design. However those choices still consider how something will look. For the house I don't know how much you want to spend, but I'm going to throw ideas out for someone who has a nice budget. If you want more of a modern look I'd replace both the garage door and front door to something with a more modern look. I'd remove the shutters and I'd also consider putting in new and taller windows on the gable end - this assumes that is feasible in the interior rooms as well. Removing bricks to enlarge windows is something that can be done more easily than the other way around. I'd also work on changing the landscaping to a more modern look...See MorePlease Help! Comments (13)Curious as to what you ended up doing if you happen to see this comment. I am in the same situation except my door is in front and I’m not on a lake. I also have 1/2 of my house front entrance to huge garage that wont be moved. Thanks for answering if you see this and have time....See MoreAdvice Please: 2 Story Garage Addition to 1 Story Modular Lake House
Comments (20)What about something like this? I cut and paste within the context of a two stall plan with a one bedroom apartment along the back. The apartment was a bit convoluted, but left the entry bath and storage as is. I am assuming this was to give visitor access to the bathroom without going through the bedroom. And the kitchen was on the exterior back which buried the LR in the middle so I juggled that. I also think this is two small for a two car garage, I would want it several feet wider and deeper. I feel like this sort of reiterates your house, this also could be mostly glass along the lake view...See MoreBluebell66
